  Sleeping in front of the disco

  Hello, The building is located in front of a disco. When you book a hotel, you expect to sleep during the night. It was only possible to sleep from 5am to 8am. It is not a hotel. It is consistent with a lot of comments on TripAdvisor (my bads, I forgot to check). Price was 258 euros for 2 rooms (family) and parking (10e included). Rooms are cleaned at 10am (receptionist told us 11am... Don't miss the hour). Heating is a little bit cold. Breakfast is correct. John.

  Food good, hotel hmmmm

  This hotel has an strang looking atmosphere, not the most friendly check in. Location perfect when the bars and clubs are closed, we knew this that's we we booked it in Coronavirus time. No hairdryer in the room, bed good sleeping quality, bathroom needs an good renovation, it was clean. Strange smell in the hallway, smells like cigarette smoke. This was the third Fletcher in a row, and by far the less.

  If you are visiting De Koog on Texel, avoid getting stuck in tourist trap Fletcher Hotel De Cooghen. The only thing that is good about it is the location in de Centre close to the beach entrance. Rest is crap. One boy of the staff was working his ass off, the rest seem to approach it as a necessary evil for making money. The room was available too late, towels were 2nd day changed but only left napkin size towels and 3rd day no towels at all. Only late in the afternoon the napkin size were brought to the room. Normal shower towels were not available. The spa facilities were closed. Television in the room is small (computer monitor size). For breakfast you can choose about English, Continental and Healthy. The healthy one was served with totally dried out vegetables and sourdough bread wasnt that. Just wholesome bread. All in all not a good customer experience for 150 Euro per room per night. Fletcher, you should really up your game for this location! You could do so much better and make it more profitable at the same time. Pictures are example of ran down state and view from the room. Beneath our room was the back of a Greek restaurant. Loud, messy and smelly at times. Pictures speak for them selves.

  Great weekend in texel despite this hotel

  400,- for two nights times 4 as we were with 4 friends. We agreed to this price as nothing else was available in Texel but reception staff was horrible and check out only after 9 AM. This combined with mediocre rooms, noisy nights, no service and no smile, hence this evaluation.

  Just below avarage, but doable

  I stayed here many times last 3 years and it is one of my favourite hotels only because of the location. In the mainstreet of De Koog, around the corner of the beach. These past years without any renovations makes the rooms and hotel warnout and a step back in time. Pros: - location, superb! - Breakfast, pretty good for a 3 star hotel Cons: - Rooms are old and warnout. - Bathrooms are old and warnout. - No customer service of whatsoever As a regular no recognised, no welcome back. Nobody cares how your day was, nobody asked if your stay is nice. Even when you enter, nobody is greeting you first. On top of all, the hotel is asking for a donation because of the Covid 19 situation. I think, as a guest who wants to visit you in this situation, it is a small effort to be friendly and nice to your customers. Unfriendly and asking for a donation is pretty rude! Also as restaurants and bars are closed, it is not allowed to bring food yourselves or to order from restaurants nearby. As a part of the community and everybody struggles it is pretty rude to customers and to your colleagues in the same town to place a sign like this in the room. As I mentioned, your stay is doable but only if you are outside the whole day and dont mind a warnout room. When prices are high and comparable with other hotels, I would recommend to choose another hotel.
