Great LocationWe stayed for one night in St Michael's. This place was super convenient and in walking distance through the town. Our room was #205. It was super clean and just the right size for an overnight stay. The bathroom was almost as big if not bigger than the room. I cannot speak on the pool, spa or breakfast as we did not utilize any of it. I would book here in an instant when going back!

Mold cityAs we were checing out they told us, they were going through a complete refurbishing this winter. The best thing they can do is tear it down then rebuild. Old, dated furnishings that have that stale smell. Mold in the tub tiles, mold by the sink, mold on the side of the building, mold everywhere. It made my wife sick. The freehbreakfst is a joke. You think of a Bed and Breakfast as having fresh baked goods with fantastic food. No! the Super 8 Motels have better breakfasts. Factory made muffins, limited selection of bagels, and bread and cereals. My brother's mattress was shot and sunken in the middle. Coffe service is by Keurig, so very limited selection of flavor. It is either one blend or decaf. And they have the balls to charge $305 a night! And their reservation system has been hacked putting our information out there on the dark web. We asked for a small refund (about 10% of our total bill) and they denied our request, saying they would lose too much money if they gave everyone a refund. We are not everyone, we are just one family. There is no guarantee they will not get hacked again and steal your information, too. The clock-radio in our room was broken, so useless.

Disappointment doesn't begin to describe the weekend at the Five Gables!Where do I start??? Our room was filthy; it looked like it had not been cleaned in decades. Thick dust on just about everything (ceiling fan, window valance, wall decor). The ceiling fan didn't operate - only the light part was functional. The bed was the most rock hard sleeping surface along with cement like pillows. Rugs were grungy enough that you wore your shoes inside the room. Take towels to sit on the balcony furniture unless your clothing is black...If you are allergic or sensitive to mold, bring your own air filtration system or a mask in addition to disinfecting wipes to clean the tub/shower. The tub in our room had so much body hair from previous guests that I almost didn't want to use it; I wanted to use the Jacuzzi jets but was afraid of what might end up in the bath water and figured if the outside was gross -- the inside would be worse!!! Animal/bird feces of some specie in the pool deck area; not sure why it hadn't been cleaned up but there was enough there to make me avoid the indoor pool. No hot water to make tea in room; microwave in lobby and it's a dinosaur. Limited breakfast options across the street in another building; could have been better. Keys to building only worked on side door -- NOT THE FRONT after hours (i.e. 5 pm). A kind man across the street came over to help us with the locked door issues and to help us with our luggage; up the outside steps - which by the way is not mentioned in their advertisement. This is definitely NOT a place for people with disabilities. They have some nerve to charge $300+ for their rooms! At the price, you expect at least CLEAN!

Super relaxing weekendI dont want to minimize any negative experiences others may have had but I honestly cant imagine them happening here. I am writing this review as we check out for what was truly an amazing and relaxing weekend. I frequented St. Michaels as a child and wanted to bring my boyfriend and Five Gables was absolutely lovely. Room was beautiful (we rented rooms 4 and 5) and we loved everything about it. Coffee in the lobby and breakfast across the street was great as were all of the employees we came in contact with. We had a minor issue with our fireplace pilot light going out and someone was out right away to fix it. I would absolutely return here and would recommend it to everyone.

Ameneties were great. Swimming pool, Sauna and steam room were awesome. It was a great place to stay. The staff was so pleasant and helpful. The town was was like out of a Hallmark Movie. Rooms were clean. The pool, sauna and steam room were an extra added bonus. We plan to visit again.
