  Family and Friends stayed for 10 nights - we loved this place

  We booked 7 rooms at this accommodation as we were in town for a softball tournament and stayed for 10 nights. We had 2 x families, 3 x grandparents and 2 x parents and friends. All rooms were clean, beds comfortable, kitchenettes and disabilities bathrooms. The loft rooms were great and gave our teenagers their space and us our space. Our hosts were so helpful and couldnt do enough to assist our group with whatever we needed. We used the hotel BBQ and set up their large tables to have a group dinner one nite without any issues. They have a laundry room which allowed us to do our laundry very few days. One family got breakfast each morning and spoke highlight of it. Rooms were cleaned daily and all the ladies who clean our rooms were lovely, friendly and provided a great service. Plenty of parking for all our cars. Location - was great - close to parks and shops within walking distance. Some of our party walked into town each morning - around a 10-15min walk or would just walk around the area and really enjoyed their walks each day. No issue was too big or too small for our hosts they were so helpful. I cant speak highlight enough about this accommodation and whilst we travelled up through NZ and stayed at another 3 properties, this property was by far the best we stayed at. This accommodation caters for all ages and disabilities. Thank u again to our hosts for such as lovely place to stay and for all your assistance and great service provided to us all for the week.

  Nights stay after a long trip

  Stayed here 1 night after a long drive after reading previous reviews. Friendly owner and room was very clean and tidy with a car park right outside . Some Local area information in the room for guests wouldve been appreciated.

  Reasonable accommodation, but not at all good in mid-winter

  To be fair, it was a very cold winter's day in Palmerston North, but we never managed to get sufficiently warm in the room. Everything conspired against eliminating the cold. On our arrival, a window had been left wide open, so the room wasn't much warmer than the 6 degrees outside. The upstairs room had a very high ceiling (and probably not much insulation) - spacious but not cosy on a cold day. Yes, there is a heat pump, but it simply was not up to the task. Good news was that there was a spa bath giving an opportunity to warm up a bit; bad news is that the bathroom is tiled, cavernous and unheated, so that was short-lived. And, finally we found that the bed had an electric blanket, with the cords hidden under the mattress. But, after freeing the cords, we discovered nowhere to plug them in. Defeat. On a warm day, this motel certainly has potential. The rate was very good via booking.com (although oddly there does not seem to be a website to book directly). Reception was friendly. The location is fine. The room has a reasonably well-equipped kitchen. Entertainment is only SkyTV - no Netflix, but the internet connection was fine. The room design, however, is a bit skimpy and frustrating - only one side table for the double bed, limited bedside lighting, and hardly any plugs. In summary, fair enough value for the price in Summer and probably Spring and Autumn, but somewhere else is probably better in Winter.

  This is a very good motel but may not be the best choice for family with very young children

  Upside: The room was very clean and tidy. I like it that uses fob/key card for entry which I find it very convenient. The location is good and very close to the city center. The price was very reasonable. Downside: The beds were too soft which I had a bad sleep because of that. Also the single bed was too light that my 4-year-old could push it around. It could be dangerous if you were too excited to jump onto the bed once you got here cos this bed will just fly like a magic carpet. The wifi was slow and unstable. The main door doesn't have anything to lock from the inside. Any young children could open the door to the outside without any adult's help. Parking space were a bit tight. You could find it struggle to park if the motel is full of cars.

  Fantastic place

  This motel is fantastic. The units are very spacious, modern, clean, relaxing, and comfortable. The staff are welcoming and attentive. Totally recommended! I would stay again in a heartbeat. Location not far from the CBD.
