  Fine hotel

  A lovely hotel and good place to stay. As we came with a tour group I don't know how expensive the rooms are. But the rooms are very nice and there are a lot of amenities there including a bar, heated pool, gym, spa and hot tub. Lots of rooms on only two floors. Clean and well kept up, quiet, comfortable beds and we got a good night's sleep. Ou only problem was the thermostats in the room that work inconsistently, and the room was either too hot or too cold at times.

  We stayed at this hotel en route to Nova Scotia and and then back en route to NC. Staff was accommodating and friendly and all our rooms were on the first floor, however hotel is really dated. They did offer a huge breakfast buffet with great hot and cold selections.

  Chilly and dated room

  We booked this last minute. The gentleman who answered the phone was helpful but not knowledgeable at all. That should have been my first clue. Lobby area is nice but hallways are long and Stark. I think only 1 elevator and we were directed to door 3 but were on the second floor. No elevator close and we had quite a bit of stuff. Room itself could not get above a temperature of 64 which might seem fine and normally would be for us but the room had a distinct chill that never left. It was in the 20s outside. The wall paper trim is peeling, the curtains were torn and bathroom and decor is extremely dated. The room was clean but didnt want to walk on carpet without shoes bc of potential dogs from before (there were a few questionable spots). The bed was soft but comfortable. The breakfast was surprisingly varied and staff very nice. Could definitely hear folks talking/walking in the halls, or in some cases running and dogs barking. Glad I was on floor 2. They do have a business center that has a computer and printer to use for free that is open 24 hours, that upped my review by a star. For the $$ I think you can find a better deal elsewhere. We paid $130+

  Not a great place to stay

  This place is very dated and wasn't very clean there was rust on the vents in the bathroom and dirt in the corners.The bed itself was not very comfortable and for the price I would have expected a cleaner room.

  My incredible trip to Portland.

  My girlfriend and I went to Portland for the weekend and stayed at the Fireside Inn. First of all, the hospitality of the workers there was terrific! Always had a smile on there face and were truly happy to help. The breakfast was delicious both mornings. The room was spotless when we got there. I was very happy about that. My favorite part of the trip was spending time at the hotel! Their pool and jacuzzi was a perfect way to relax after a long day walking around the beautiful city of Portland. Id rate this hotel 5/5 stars NO QUESTION.
