  Nos resultó muy conveniente la relación calidad-precio. Muy buena ubicacion, en el centro histórico de Trieste. El hotel tiene restaurante, bueno. El desayuno muy correcto. Buena atencion. Acepta tarjeta de credito.

  Great staff, but mediocre facilities.

  My family enjoyed interacting with the staff here. They were the best part of the establishment. The hotel itself is close to major attractions and has so much potential. In order to achieve its potential, however, the hotel needs to undergo major renovations. Our stay was marred by (1) broken elevators, (2) an odorous and noisy room, including beeping sounds at odd hours of the night and loud door closings, and (3) dated fixtures, including curtains (4) a tiny TV - i.e. probably 12 inches measured diagonally, (5) an unworkable remote control, etc. To restate, the hotel has to be significantly revamped and modernized.

  Great location and value for money

  This is a small hotel, very well-located, 10min to the train and central statins, 5 min from main attractions in Trieste (20mjn to the castle and cathedral). The reception staff were courteous and breakfast, while not very varied, was yummy. Good for the price. Good bathroom with shower, big bed and wardrobe with safe. Pity other guests were rude and loud both late at night and early morning, but thats hardly the hotels fault. I had room 13, had a little balcony too.

  Great location

  We were pleased with our stay at Hotel Filoxenia. The location is really excellent, walking distance from the train station, shopping, restaurants and the hop tour starting point. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke English. The hotel was also happy to store our bikes with no additional charge. The breakfast was standard for Italy with bread, meat, cheese, cereals etc. There is also a small bar area near the reception desk (which is staffed 24hrs) where you can get coffee and tea etc. The room was basic but comfortable, although there was some street noise so if you are a light sleeper I suggest bringing ear plugs. We also ate dinner in the Greek restaurant next door and found the food to be very good.

  Staff is nice. Hotel is clean but outdated and noisy. Rooms smell bad; the fridges in the rooms were very old and did not really cool anything; AC was broken in the whole hotel (80-85F temperature) so we were sweating all night; the bus stop is right in front of hotel windows and start running at 5:30am, bus is super noisy, so be ready to wake up EARLY; at 5am somebody was fumbling with plastic bags outside our door for about 20 minutes...I assume the staff preparing something, but was too tired to get up and check... The rooms are functioning but outdated, some plastic furniture broken. The hotel needs a lot of renovation.
