  Beautiful hotel, lovely big rooms, very friendly service

  This is the second time we have stayed here, very friendly staff and beautiful hotel, The rooms are very large and spacious. Lots of character ands very good value for money. Would definitely stay again. It was a shame this time that due to covid we could not have breakfast in the beautiful panelled dining room and that the pool was closed. But still a lovely palce to stay.

  Super value lovely building excellent

  Great Great value for money! Arrived, checked in, single room was very good with tea & coffee. Booked in to use facilities and had the gym which was fantastic all to myself and again then used the swimming pool and had it all to myself almost like it was my own place. And the gym is properly equipped! Spoke to receptionist and before covid19 it was a members gym like a Snap fitness apparently. Breakfast was a take to room affair due to covid but the cooked food in the brioche bun was really tasty. I'd definitely stay again next time I have a customer in Wiltshire!

  Not very impressed

  Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. My room was like a prison cell with the smallest TV in the world. Single bed, no bedside cabinet to put drinks or phone on and absolutely freezing! I had no control over the temperature as the heating was on a timer, which came on for a couple of hours in the evening and an hour in the morning. I actually had to wear my coat in my room! I tried having a shower but water just trickled out which made it impossible. Had to wait till the evening when others had stopped showering. Staff are non existent and I was told to ring from my room if I needed to speak to someone. Unfortunately nobody bothered answering. Tried to purchase a glass of wine at 8:10 pm but bar shuts at 8 and everyone goes home! Felt very unsafe here as I literally never seen a single member of staff apart from in the morning. Was woken on my second night at 11:30 with the fire alarm going off. I dutifully made my way to the nearest fire exit but couldn't get away from the building as it was so overgrown! Thankfully a fellow guest had the emergency number on his phone. The man who is on call 24 hours but doesn't actually stay in the hotel said it was a false alarm and we can go back to our rooms. At no point did any member of staff come to speak to us or check we were ok. I discussed this with a member of staff in the morning who wasn't even aware about the fire alarm! I urge any single person, especially a woman to not stay in this hotel. If anything would have happened to me, there would have been no one around to help. Laughably, I spent my 3rd day in a travelodge at a third of the price and have to honestly say it was so much better! Staff 24 hours a day, a room in which you can control the heating a a hot, workable shower. I know where my money will be going from now on!

  Family stay

  We stayed here after a family trip to Longleat for one night. We booked the family room,11 which was very spacious and clean. Obviously things are different due to covid but when checking in we were able to book the pool for a family swim. The staff provided plates for our takeaway, opened our beers for us as we forgot a bottle opener and were very helpful and friendly. We booked our takeaway breakfast for 9.30am which was delicious and great value for money. Normally you would take it back to your room but as we were the only ones in the hotel at the time , we were able to eat it in the lounge in front of the tv! I would definitely stay here again and look forward to being able to access all the facilities once restrictions are over. Thank you for a great stay!

  Stayed here for a night rooms were nice, Sue was excellent on reception very helpful & friendly thank you. Used the gym was very surprised lots of equipment and very modern, also a very nice swimming pool
