  First time to Stowe

  First time to Stowe and second Lark hotel chain and we were very impressed. We stayed in cottage 1 which had 2 bedrooms and was very spacious. Had its own entrance, 3 TVs and kitchen. The hotel lounge area was very quaint, the bar wasnt in service due to Covid. Hospitality was above average. Perfect location right in town. My only suggestion is to move the wheelbarrow and tools from next to our room to a shed.

  Funky boutique hotel

  We stayed in cottage 1 - two bedrooms, living room, kitchen area and bathroom. Multiple Apple TVs. Loved the cool design of the place (especially the lobby!) and separate rooms for kids and parents. The service is excellent, everyone is so nice and accommodating. Great to have the hot tub after a day of skiing, had to reserve but always could find times. Convenient parking to the cottages and really could be contactless. Masks and COVID protocols enforced. Wonderful breakfast bags each morning with different menus including things like fresh fruit, chia pudding, overnight oats, fruit, granola and yogurt cups and amazing freshly baked muffins and scones. Hot tea and coffee available in lobby and keuring in room with coffee pods. And finally loved the Lather toiletries, wonderful scents. While the room is designed in a hip rustic style there could be some improvements in functionality the sink has almost no space to put toiletries, we had to bring in a chair to set things down on. The shower is one of those glass doors that only covers half the width of the shower so is awkward. Would have rather had a microwave oven than two stove top burners we did not use. Youve got to have coat hooks in a ski hotel and this room only had hanging in the closets in the bedrooms. Instead of the narrow shelves next to the bathroom I would knock that out and put up a bar to hang coats or hooks.... Overall we really enjoyed our stay and our first trip to Stowe in the winter.

  Love this place!

  Spent my 10th wedding anniversary at FG Lodge, which was also my first trip to Stowe. We were thrilled to have received an upgrade to the Trail House during such a special trip. It was exactly what we needed for a weekend away from the kids! The lodge and rooms have such a fun and cozy vibe. My only suggestion would be to add a full length mirror to the room. The check in/check out process was super easy and safe. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was excellent. I look forward to returning again, especially post-COVID so that we can really enjoy everything they have to offer. Thank you, FG staff, for such a great experience!

  Cozy, comfortable, friendly

  We had a lovely long weekend at the Field Guide Lodge. The room is extremely cozy, and the lobby is a beautiful place to hang out. The staff did an exceptional job of making it feel warm and welcoming in spite of covid. They were extremely friendly and responsive to what we needed and were very helpful with recommendations and advice. We can't wait to come back to Stowe once the pandemic is over, and when we do, we will definitely come back to the Field Guide Lodge.

  Our New "Home" When Visiting Stowe

  My wife and I stayed at the Field Guide Lodge in February 2021 knowing nothing about Lark Hotels. We picked it because it looked fresh and the price was reasonable. We loved everything about it--decor, staff, room, breakfast. And how nice to find two free bottles of water and two homemade cookies waiting in the room when you arrive. When we came back to Stowe in March 2021, we didn't consider any other hotel. We will be looking for Lark Hotels whenever traveling in New England. Here are the pros and cons: PROS --Decor. The Field Guide is beautifully decorated in a fun way. Little details everywhere tell you someone thought a lot about how to create a special atmosphere for a "ski town" hotel. --Staff. The staff on both our trips were wonderful. They set up a very clever system using text messages--you can just text requests and questions. --Breakfast. Because of Covid, they are unable to offer a breakfast buffet, so they adapted with creative breakfast bags in the morning. The first time, we had chia pudding with blueberry compote, a muffin and a piece of fruit. The second time, delicious yoghurt with berries and homemade granola, a cinnamon scone and a piece of fruit. Strong, delicious Colombe coffee is available in the lobby. --Beds. Super comfortable CONS --None really (but it would be great to have coffee and breakfast available a bit earlier than 7:30am when Stowe lifts open at 8am)
