Lovely HostessMargaret was a charming and helpful hostess, and made a wonderful full Irish breakfast, the best we had on our two-week tour. The lodge is showing its age, needing some maintenance to upgrade the amenities. The location, two minutes from the Irish National Heritage Park, and close to Wexford town, is a real plus.

Cosy B&BJust a nice B&B to visit. The breakfast is very good, the owner and her helper are very friendly. We had one night a cold shower, the floors are noisy, but that belongs to this kind of accomodation! But the view is fantastic!!

Warm welcome in WexfordSpent two nights here . Our hostess , Margaret , was very welcoming and gave us good recommendations for eating in town . Breakfast was excellent and suited all tastes ; salmon and scrambled egg particularly good ! Lovely situation and very quiet at night although the railway line is close by and the road is a short cut to the N11 . Yes the floors creaked and is was difficult to ignore the sounds from above , the en suite is small but adequate . The house has a public lounge so you don't have to spend all the time in the bedroom . Plenty of room to park and all together very satisfactory for a short stay .

Highly recommendI was attending a function at the Wexford Opera house and I stayed here at this BnB. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Its approximately eight minutes drive into town, overlooking the river Slaney. Its a beautiful purpose-built house. Margaret is very welcoming. My bedroom was beautifully furnished with an ensuite and was warm and inviting. The breakfast was excellent. I will definitely be returning PS Im using the app on an iPhone and it wont allow five stars. This is definitely five star in my opinion

Not four star....Stayed here for a weekend break, this B&B looks quite quaint with its homely looking lounge & diningroom, BUT... it is very creeky and cold. The floorboards make alot if noise which puts you off moving about the place at night as its all floorboards everywhere. The walls are so thin you can here the other guests cough an go to the loo. The bathroom is tiny but the shower was powerful enough altho very dated with dirty grout an old fittings. There was a glass shelf just above the tiny sink which makes it impossible to wash your face without hitting your head (which I did). The bed was ok and clean, & there was tea & coffee with kettle that had to be moved across the room an used on the floor for the plug, then taken back to the small table it sits on for show beside the tea bags etc. The selection is very basic, maybe 5 tea bags 5sachets of sugar & 5 coffee sachets. Breakfast has to be requested at your last breakfast one day before, and if you change your mind then tough, I asked next morning if i could have an omellette instead of the poached eggs I had ordered the morning before and was told its too late to change it. To be honest I don't really know what I fancy for breakfast one whole day before, I generally like to see how I feel that morning. I didn't get the feeling we came first, more like we had to fit around Margaret! (The owner) We were asked to turn the tv in our room down on the Saturday evening, which we could barely hear due to the person above stamping about on the creeky floor, banging and dropping things. There is no food served at anytime except breakfast, so you will have to take some sort of munchies for inbetween, and you definately need a car to stay at this B&B as there is nothing close by or in walking distance. I do think it would be a more pleasent stay in the summer months when its less cold an you're barely in the room or B&B. To be honest I didn't find the owner to be over friendly atall, there was no conversation or small talk, very matter of fact from the day we arrived, I feel we left as strangers, which was very disapointing as the Irish are famed for being friendly or so they say! Oh yeah take plenty of warm clothes, as the heating goes off at night , when we said we were cold we were told theres a blanket in the wardrobe lol. To be honest id rather have stayed at home! Thats how this experience has left me feeling, that I wasted good time & money on the whole weekend stay. No I won't be back, an I doubt the owner cares either way about anything but herself!
