    Perfect everything

We are 3 Catalan who stayed a fortnight in Ferndale Lodge and our experience was excellent. The rooms are so nice! The croissants. the fresh food. etc... at breakfast delicious. The owners were very helpful. The lady who cleans the rooms was lovely. She helped us in a pair of occasions. The first days were very hot and our rooms were under the roof, but there were fans in the rooms and we could open the window. Andrew offered an air conditioning portable unit that was outside the room, but it was not necessary. We shared the kitchen and fridge with other guests that were from Italy, Switzerland, and Germany and there were no problems. Everybody behaved very correctly. I think every room in this lovely house is different and has something special. There is art on the ground floor. Shampoo with conditioner, soap, bath gel, and shower cup. Still and sparkling water in glass bottles. Tea, coffee facilities, milk, and cookies every day. Wonderful beds and pillows. Quietness to sleep well. We would like to come back.

    Excellent place

Beautifully appointed rooms, spotlessly clean throughout this residence. Convenient location , an easy walk to the centre. Excellent breakfast, polite and friendly host. About the room, We stayed in a Deluxe room, it had a pleasant view of Torquay, our room was on the first floor, I'm not aware of a lift . The room had ample space for me and my partner and had a comfy 4 poster bed. Other amenities , a modern Shower that was easy ,and hot. Widescreen TV and communal kitchen with fridge. Parking off road. Sure we will return to Ferndale lodge sometime soon.

Excellent short stay, Thankyou Ferndale Lodge!

Booked this trip at the last minute for myself and my mum as a short break although still apprehensive about the current situation with COVID. Upon arrival we were greeted by Andrew; he was helpful and very polite. Andrew explained that the hotel was operating in accordance with government guidelines regarding COVID and informed us of the measures taken during our stay. We stayed in a twin room which was very clean. The room itself had tea, coffee and a kettle to make a hot drink, with bottled water and biscuits. It also had an en-suite with a shower, toilet and sink. As well as this there was a TV, fan and safe in the wardrobe. There is a communal kitchen that you can use to make a meal or hot drinks or stock up on extra tea bags and the likes! We used the fridge to keep our drinks in during the hot weather. The cooked breakfast tasted lovely with good produce and very well presented, Andrew and his staff were always polite, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We would highly recommend Ferndale Lodge!

    Fantastic little place!

We stayed for 3 nights, we were met by Andrew on arrival who was very welcoming and accommodating. We had room 5 and it was lovely had all we needed to be comfortable. Andrew set out all Covid procedures clearly and positively we felt very safe and at ease. Breakfast was amazing and Andrew even accommodated to my dietary needs offering lacto free milk and gluten free sausages for breakfast. The bnb is in a really good location just a short walk from the High street and harbour. Overall would 100% recommend this place to everyone who visits Torquay and we will definitely hope to return!

    Friends short break

After lots of searching on TripAdvisor and reading many reviews, my eyes fixed on Ferndale Lodge. Lots of the B&Bs were too chintzy and floral, but these rooms stood out from the rest. Pale greens and greys with clean lines. The hotel was beautifully decorated. The small things like reed diffusers dotted around the place made it smell lovely. There was a small guest kitchen with a fridge, microwave, and iron. There was extra tea and coffee if required. And if you didnt feel like going out you could get a microwave meal. There were extra plates and cutlery. We had one of the twin rooms which was decorated in pale grey. White linen and lovely towels. There were toiletries and a hairdryer, the Electric points had USB points. There was also a fan as the room did get quite hot. There was a TV and kettle. There was a small breakfast room which had everything you could wish for. Tea, coffee, juice. Cereal toast and pastries. Because of COVID you had to book a breakfast slot to ensure social distancing between quests in the breakfast room. Breakfast was amazing and tasty and perfectly presented. Full English, poached eggs, scrambled smoked salmon and fruit pancakes was superb. Andrew the proprietor, well what can I say? Such a lovely man, quietly spoken, and nothing too much trouble There was a small bar which we made use of, a bell on reception indicated to Andrew that someone was waiting or needed something. It was usually us asking for shandy or wine or a recommendation to a restaurant. It was a 15 minute walk into the harbour, through the pedestrianised shopping area. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants. From the harbour you can get buses, boats to Brixham and Paignton and Dartmouth is definitely worth a visit. We would definitely recommend this little gem. It also has a small outdoor terrace and free parking on site.
