    Excellent value, lovely base.

So glad we booked here after reading the few reviews on tripadvisor. We did manage to find a few on another site (shhhh) but were not sure what to expect. We stayed in July 2012 and had three days half board in a triple/ family room with an attached kitchenette. Room was spotless, towels and room service daily. Staff were friendly and helpful. Meals were very well organised, especially the no nonsense menu for half board (4 courses). We would recommend you upgrade to HB. It cost us 36 euros in total for three of us for two days. Cosy snug bar which we made good use of. Spa facilities were included, although we didn't use them they looked immaculate too. The hotel website is well organised and easy to use. It is a 2 minute walk from the railway station ( very quiet local trains only) and only a 5 minute drive from the cable car to Zugspitze. From Ehrwald it is an easy walk around to Lermoos. Here you will find the 5 star hotels and expensive shops, but lovely. Ehrwald has a more family friendly appeal. We will return.

    Great Location

Although the desk clerk was not the friendliest person we encountered, the hotel was wonderful. Our spacious room offered an amazing view out the front window. Hotel was quiet and had a satisfactory breakfast. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

In the process of being updated

This hotel is a work in progress. The reception has been modernised and some of the room, unfortunately not ours. The bathroom was very dated and there was no hairdryer or shower gel. The towels were a old and tatty. The bed was comfortable but the TV was mounted on the wall behind it. The kitchen closed at 8pm and at 9:30 we had to leave the restaurant. Smoking was allowed in the bar, making it a no go area for us. We only stayed 1 night, I would not have wanted to stay longer.

    Decent hotel for decent price

Hotel was clean as were the rooms, spacious enough with good views. Quite old fashioned but you could tell it was well maintained for many years so that was ok for us. Only downside was the grumpy and unhelpful receptionist on the day of arrival. Upon leaving the receptionist seemed friendlier so we may have been unlucky. She didn't give us any information about the hotel or what they had and offered. Or even the wifi code. Had to call , then go down and get off her. Got some free tickets which we only saw as we were leaving as we weren't informed could leave our key next to the hotel reception and pick up leaflets or our post there. Additionally, breakfast was shocking!!! Do not bother with it, may as well get a crusty bread from the local petrol station and woudl be same standard. Didn't try restaurant for other meals after terrible breakfast.

    Nice hotel, friendly staff

We wanted a room with a view other than the street scene. When we booked in there was no balcony, window towards the street in the room we were given. We made are disappointment known. Were told, they would see what they could do, seeing that we wanted to stay two or three nights. The next offer included a balcony and the room was comfortable. We stayed for three nights. Our intention was to go up to the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain at 3000m from Austria, it didnt eventuate because of the foggy, cloudy weather, but we were comfortable at the hotel. Breakfast was both generous and plentiful, and on the day we left there was a nice touch at breakfast of a little sweet going away gift. It was nice enough here for us to attempt to return, but unfortunately by then they were totally booked out. A good hotel which has safe parking nearby.
