The room was dirty, the shower had mold and leaking from the shower or toilet aboveI walked into the room and it resembled a flop house. The shower was dirty, the floors were coming apart, carpet was torn and molding missing. There is no lift and the stairs are dangerous. We didn't stay, we advised the clerk that our room was dirty and he shrugged his shoulders and said we pre paid-no refunds. We went just down the street and for 40 euros more slept in a clean and comfortable room . Don't even consider this place it is a dump.

AVOID - this is a dreadful hotelAvoid at all costs. The convenient location is not a good reason to stay here. The welcome we got from the grumpy Danny de Vito character on what might be termed the front desk, was perfunctory at best and more likely downright rude. We were offered no assistance to our rooms on the 3rd floor and as we climbed the dirty damaged and fluff ridden steps, we were not surprised that the management didnt want to be with us when we found our room. I was in room 7 and my friend was in room 10 to start with though moved to room 4 to get a bed that was functional. The room. It was dingy and dirty. The walls were stained though it should be said that one wall did appear to have paint on it. The room smelt of urine (we found out why later). The floor was dirty (I kept my socks on for the whole stay). The window to the balcony was broken. The balcony was very dirty and the furniture on it was badly soiled. There was a table which housed a dirty kettle and cups (not used) and a cable minefield for the TV (not used). The table was dirty. There was a small heat exchanger under the table with a thick layer of dust on it. There was a wardrobe but the doors were faulty. To be fair, the lights all worked but when I turned them on it made the room look worse. There was a metal chair, but the cushion was stained and it was holding back the single curtain which was dirty and stained and had been adjusted for length by the use of safety pins. To be fair these pins looked fairly new. The air-con did work thankfully. The bed. The cover was badly soiled and smelly (possibly the urine - but not tested). The sheets looked clean but the single blanket looked a bit suspicious. The bed base was badly soiled and I couldnt bring myself to look under the bed. The bed pillows were biscuit thin so I found the spare pillows in the wardrobe. Both of these looked like they had been used before, judging by their creasing. I put a t-shirt over them before using them. The best bit about the bed was that, on the side that I used, it was fairly level and I did actually manage to sleep. The bathroom. This was disgusting. The floor was dirty, the walls were dirty and there were wires sticking out of the wall over the sink. The mirror was dirty and the glass shelf was stained and dusty. The sink was dirty and broken and - it transpires - the plumbing under it was broken and leaked badly when I shaved. To be fair the water pressure was good and the water was hot. The toilet was rank! It was not fixed to the floor and there was a tell tale leak at the back (I think the source of the urine smell - again not tested). The seat was not fixed on properly. The shower over bath was dirty and cracked but the shower curtain was ok. The shower fitting was broken and dangling free. The grouting between the tiles was stained. We reported the state of this room to our friendly receptionist, but he didnt care. My mates room was worse and he got moved. He had received bed bug bites which only started to heal after some treatment. We were having long days at the racing which also meant that the hotels in Nice were pretty full so we really had to put up with it - or sleep on park benches. Summary. The very best thing about this hotel was the outside where we enjoyed our return visit to this wonderful city. We are saddened that the owners of this dreadful establishment blight the decent reputation of the city. We cannot advise strongly enough that, based on extensive experience of staying in hotels, this is probably the worst hotel that I have encountered and - really - staying anywhere else is the best choice for staying in this great city.

NOT THE BEST.As you walk into the reception area of the building it looks very nice then you climb the stairs, they are steep and not very well light. Afew loose nose ings makes them a bit unsafe. As we got to our room on the top floor number 14 we were out of breath, there is no lift. I had read previous reviews so went armed with anti bac wipes, Dettol spray also spare mattress cover and pillow cases. all which I used. I feel I left the room a lot cleaner than when we arrived. the shower head h0lder was broken so we had to adapt a metal coat hanger to hold the shower head in place. we lined the shelves in the clothes area with our newspaper. before we would place our clothes in it. we had air con but not very good at all an extra fan was also in the room which was no use either. the room was overlooking the main street it was very noisey, then you had the bin men and street cleaners early morning. however, there was a small balcony which we just about managed to sit on before going out for the day. As far as location its great not far from shops, bars, train station, beach. it just needs abit of TLC. staff were friendly enough and spoke English. I would not stop their again I would pay for a better room elsewhere.

ID RATHER STAY IN A CARDBOARD BOXThis hotel is very dirty to say the least. When we first walked into the lobby it looked decent, but when we got to the room it was a very unpleasant sight. First off, how does the maid do her job? It is very dirty and nothing is clean. There are cracks everywhere in the wall. Not only that, but there are weird splatters and smears on the wall (not paint). The fridge is very dirty inside as well and the stairs are a challenge to climb as well. We brought our grandma on this trip and it didnt go very well for her! Not only that but our AC was broken and we let them know. They said they would check it out but that never happened, which I am not surprised. Overall, I am very disgusted. The service is not great either. The only thing good about this hotel was the convenient location next to the beach and shops. I couldnt wait to get out of this shït hole.

Location is the only thing going for itStayed only one night, Nice was our stop between Ireland and Corsica. It's not a hotel, it's more like a hostel even with private bathroom. Location is great in the middle of the city centre, walk distance to main Nice's attraction and Promenade des Anglais. Breakfast very simple. Good for short term staying.
