  Decent Lagos Hotel

  Stayed here for almost a month a few years back and have been back a few times not to stay in the hotel but for the dinner buffet they offer. The property is nice and they also do alot of events here also during the year. I prefer this hotel over Eko Hotel because its quite and not as busy.

  This hotel is acceptable all things considered. It is located in VI, a nice place to be in and the security is second to none. It is also very spacious if that's your thing and the staff are great. I am very objective in my reviews and this one is no different. I hope the management will take some of my points highlighted below to improve their services. It is a pitty to see a grand hotel in such a state. The Hotel firstly needs a bit of a face lift. And I don't just mean aesthetics. I also mean on the social front. It was built in the 1950s through 60s as a grand establishment and no doubt was glamorous back then, however today it is less than a shadow of its former self. I stayed in a sea facing room. Certainly not as great as it sounds. It is not worth paying extra for. The room is big enough. The bed was comfy and the sheets were clean. Very old, but clean. You can tell from the state of the bathroom that the rooms weren't renovated since the hotel opening. They were clean nevertheless. The water on the other hand is a hit or miss. If you are lucky the shower water will be clean. If unlucky you will have to face the choice of showering in murky water. (See pic ) or wait few hours or so for it to settle. I have seen this in many parts of Africa. It was not new to me. The Wifi at the hotel is really bad and hacked by every hacker in Nigeria and possibly the world. So please be careful not to use it for internet banking or accounts of high importance. The wifi security is rubbish and so is the speed and for this reason it keeps cutting off.Total rubbish. Very surprising from a hotel that claims to cater for "classy business clientele" as the staff are tought to reply when asked why the hotel is so deserted. Who on earth said that business people are dull and boring? Hmmmm I suggest that they also adjust the AC vents in the room in such a way to prevent the freezing air hitting you continuously in the head while you sleep and have to wake up to turn the AC off and back on few times in the night. They have hair dryers in the rooms but no iron and ironing boards. You will have to send your garments for ironing at the hotel. The service is fast though. My room didn't have a bath robe or slippers but I didn't mind What will really strike you about this hotel is how quiet it is. On Friday night. There were 5 people in the lobby and 4 staff. This is the kind of place where you can literally hear yourself think. It has an ora of sadness about it. You don't see anyone except the hotel staff. The staff are very friendly though. Like most Nigerians, if they like you, they will go out of their way to help. This place has a casino that on Friday night had four people in it. The hotel has more staff than guests. The food is good and the variety is just as good. Personally, I wouldn't necessarily stay there again as I prefer to see few more guests around at the hotel. I would probably choose a smaller and trendier boutique hotel instead. I would say the Federal Palace is more of 4 star hotel with 5 star shadow and would give it a score of 3.5/5 It is a real shame.   big 5 stars with a 2 stars service

  I made my reservation by Booking, but when I arrived there they don't accept American Express, so I had to pay with ATM card. They also blocked a big amount on the card, but at the check out they were unable to refound it, so they had to give me cash, even if I don't need cash back. They don't have any fresch juice at the bar and restaurant. In the room there is no bathrobe and no slippers. Minibar is empty. The bathroom is very old. I was not allowed to have a late check out. AC too strong in lobby.

  The relaxed ambience of the hotel is comforting. The swimminp pools are amazing especially the slide. The Hotel is very clean and quiet, just the kind of place for a gateaway. Above all it is a Fantastic place for a vacation.

  Personalised service, small challenge when the power went off and we waited over 15 minutes to resume the presentation in the meeting room .Otherwise the team was attentive to our needs.We will definitely be back
