Best Place to Stay in the West Chester AreaWe recently stayed at the Faunbrook for two nights toward the end of December. It was delightful. If not for the fact that we were on our way to visit family for Christmas, we would have stayed longer. The staff was friendly and helpful. I am sure it is great in any season, but we found the Faunbrook to be particularly wonderful in December. The decorations of the entire first floor were both tasteful and spectacular. We are normally not so into decorations, but these were really extraordinary. We specifically chose to just stay in on the last morning to enjoy sitting and reading in the common rooms. The location is great. We went to Valley Forge and the Audubon museum one day -- all accessible via beautiful country roads. West Chester downtown is minutes away and we had two great meals at the Iron Hill restaurant.

A True Bed and BreakfastWe stayed in the Percy Suite which boasts a fireplace. We chose this over the others which had claw-foot tubs because of the fireplace but in reality, the fireplace was small and didn't add much heat to the room. If I booked again, I would go for a tub. The Percy Suite has a tub but it's not meant to be used as such. The plug is wrong for the drain and the water flows too slow to make it worth your while. The room was beautiful and quaint. The bed was harder than we like, though, and most of the windows are exposed (no curtains or blinds) so though the trees shade the room a bit, the morning light isn't obscured at all. Wine is available in a small refrigerator downstairs which is also convenient in case you bring anything small back to the hotel and want to keep it cool. The ground were beautiful, though too cold for us to enjoy in February. We sat a bit in the parlor and enjoyed the details surrounding us. Breakfast is the highlight, by far. You may not be able to finish everything in front of you! We had coffee, juice, cinnamon raisin toast, raspberry crumb bread, a large yogurt parfait with fresh blueberries, strawberries and granola, enough sausage that there was still leftovers after everyone at the table had their fill and individual quiches. The quiches were HUGE, when we saw them, we thought they were to be shared between couples but no, each person received a dinner-plate-sized quiche of potatoes, three kinds of cheese, spinach and eggs. They were delicious! The only thing better at breakfast than the food was the beautiful cook who was chatty and warm, totally intent on ensuring we were satisfied. The hotel was quiet but we were one of two couples there. All the rooms require scaling the stairs to get to them but what else would you expect in a 150 year old house? You can walk a couple blocks to the nearby university and it's a rather short drive to anything else you could want. Of all the B&Bs I've stayed in, this is the only one that actually met my idea of what a B&B should be. We regret that we were only able to stay the one night but if I had to stay in the area again, I would definitely book a room (with a claw-foot tub!) here.

Another Fantastic StayFinally posting about our wonderful weekend at our favorite historic spot in PA. Lori and John are so welcoming, and the rooms are just stunning. We love spending time in the parlor in front of the fireplace. As always, breakfast was delicious! This time we had stuffed croissant French toast! Everything about Faunbrook is romantic, and I cant wait until we can return after the shelter-in-place order is lifted.

Picture Perfect B&BWe recently stayed at the Faunbrook for two nights and we had a lovely time. We chose Mays Room and it was all we really needed. We were very close to downtown West Chester and also Longwood Gardens and Galer winery, so we stayed busy every day. Lori, the owner, was awesome. She was very attentive to every detail to be sure we were comfortable and happy. Breakfast was fantastic- we happened to get bananas foster french toast (my personal favorite)! We would recommend Faunbrook!

Faunbrook B & B What a great place to stay!!My wife and I recently stayed at Faunbrook and are VERY glad we did!!! It is a wonderful home and breakfasts were awesome. In addition, my wife was experiencing a temporary health issue and once the innkeeper, Once Lori was advised of my wifes difficulty she very quickly offered us a different room to help accommodate her. AND, she did not "up-charge" for this move. We will return!!!! Jim C.
