Convenient to airport, lots of dining options, and a clean new hotelI needed a convenient home base near the airport and close to Robert Morris University where I had meetings. There were options closer to RMU but they didn't really have great TripAdvisor reviews and there weren't many options for dining and such around them. I'm willing to drive a little more to have better options. That said, I chose wisely. This hotel appears to be fairly new. It was clean throughout and well-maintained. The staff was top-notch. Other than the fact that getting around that area is a fascinating exercise in oddly laid out roads and tons of traffic (which is NOT the hotel's fault in the least, of course), I'd definitely recommend this hotel. It's a great example of the updated Fairfield Inn style.

What we've come to expect from Fairfield HotelsWe have been staying at Fairfield Hotels exclusively because we know we will get a clean spacious room, excellent hotel staff and a comfortable bed. We have stayed in other chains before and always wind up with a sore back in the morning, not at the Fairlfields. This Fairfield was excellent all around, even found my robe I left in the room and returned it to me. Great location, close to the airport, stores and restaurants. We will stay at this location again.

MrsMy husband and I stayed one night prior to our early morning flight. . Up until approximately 3am young adults were talking loudly and running up and down the hall. I mentioned it to the girl at the desk and she was going to alert the manager stating that we might get extra points for the inconvenience. We never heard back from Fairfield. The least the manager could have done was to follow up with us.

In a COVID-19 World, Place was Terrible. You have been warned.I stayed here in August 2020 for an overnight trip to the Pittsburgh are to do some shopping and light sight seeing. I have a terrible experience and cannot in any way, shape or form, recommend this hotel during COVID time. First, when we checked in, there were 6 people in the lobby when we arrived and only 2 of them were wearing a face mask. The state of PA requires face masks in public places so not only was this location violating the Marriott policy requiring face masks, they were also violating local jurisdiction rules requiring face masks. The front desk attendant did have on a mask but did not say anything to any of the folks not wearing a mask. I felt extremely uncomfortable and knew this trip was off to a bad start. I was staying on points so check in was quick and I swiped my card for incidentals. I was assigned a room number and things continued to go downhill. I was emailed by the hotel before with the increased cleaning they were doing and was then disappointed. I decided to wipe down the room in addition, and while I was conducting my cleaning, I pulled back the bed linens and there was a hair in the bed! Absolutely disgusting. This wouldn't be ok pre covid but post covid, this was completely unacceptable. I called down and requested someone come change the sheets in the room. I was first offered a new set of sheets but had to change them myself because housekeeping had gone for the day. No thank you. I was then offered a new room. I said ok to the new room, even though I had just spent 20 minutes disinfecting my current room myself. After about 15 minutes, I was given a new room and promptly starting disinfecting that room as well. Luckily there were no hairs in this room. Besides deciding to clean the room myself, overall, the room was showing signs of wear. It was hard to determine how clean it was before I did my second clean because of the overall shape of the room. The ice machine and vending machine on my floor were broken and required us to take an elevator to another floor for ice. Not only were they broken, the area was taped off with caution tape which was terrible show. In a time where I would like to spend as little time in elevators and pressing buttons, this was a disappointment. The walls are thin and we heard people running up and down the hallways during the night. However, the bed was fine. Nothing special, but this is also just a Fairfield Inn so we were not expecting much. There is no breakfast service because of COVID but when we asked, they provided to go bags of breakfast foods and had cereal and yogurt available. The cereal and yogurt were fine. The bag contained an apple which I did not feel comfortable eating without cleaning and a bagel that was probably ok to eat 4 days prior to it being given to me. It was hard as a rock and we threw it out. It's a shame I used points on this, but I guess I got what I paid, which was very little. The location was actually very good. Lots of shopping and restaurants in the area including an IKEA and Costco. We drove downtown and it only took around 20 minutes which was convenient. I might have recommended pre COVID but in a COVID world, I cannot recommend this based on the non compliance mask wearing and the dirty room. You have bene warned if you decide to book here and feel unsafe, as I did. Will not return and overall very disappointed in the Marriott brand. Will likely try Hilton next time I travel in COVID times.

Locked in my roomWell I was locked in my room and no way to get out. The front desk came up and her key would not work also. She had to call the maintenance man back in. Which only took about 10 minutes and he was able to open the door. He then blamed me saying I had the lock latched which was not true. They had to move my room. Terrible customer service. And unsafe hotel. Not recommended
