Almost perfect...Note: This review was given during heightened concerns around Coronavirus. We were bringing my 74 year old mom cross country to stay with us during the rest of the pandemic and were doing our best to be extremely safety conscious during the trip. We stayed in Marriott brands because of their publicized commitment to safety during the pandemic. Planned to rate this hotel a 5 as everyone we encountered before and during check-in via phone, app, and at the counter was super friendly and accommodating. The lobby and room was spotless. The women checking us in were wearing masks, theres plexiglass at the counter, the pens are sterilized, theres hand sanitizer at the desk. Its convenient off the freeway. And even though the breakfast is suspended they had bagged to go breakfast with three options. Where they lost me was in the morning when I went to check out. The man behind the counter was wearing a mask pulled down around his neck. I joked with him that masks work better if you cover your mouth and nose with him hoping he would pull it over his face. He didnt. He said he was working in the office and has a hard time breathing. I feel for him, and he was friendly, but this doesnt honor the hotels commitment to safety. We then passed another employee emptying the trash outside who also had his mask pulled down around his neck. Was super bummed that what started out feeling like a safe place left us feeling concerned. Had a great experience up to that point.

Great placeStop over going to CA. Tak8ng every precaution to keep us safe from the virus. Masks to enter,lo plexiglass at check-in, single use pens, hand santitizer, and wipes. Love whatever they are using to clear as very fresh smelling. Rooms all the amenities, clean and welcoming. No buffet breakfast at this time.offered 3 different bagged breakfasts with either breakfast burrito, sausage biscuit or Danish. McDonald's next door. Would stay again.

Adequate hotel for one nightThis hotel is fairly new in this old town. The room is large with firm mattress, adequate pillows and good sheets. The rate included breakfast but it was very skimpy, bad coffee, no juice and a few muffins in plastic wrap!

Very Good and Getting BetterStopped for one night only after a very long drive, with another--to Houston--the next day. The hotel appears to have their Covid policies in order. Two of the other reviews I read on TA complained that one employee was not wearing a mask properly. I don't doubt them, but everyone we saw was wearing a mask, and they have Covid precautions in order. The hotel is in a rather interesting business position just now. Marriott-brand hotels get updated and renovated periodically; the renovations are scheduled years in advance, and this Fairfield happened to be scheduled for 2020. Just now I believe they're redoing the 2nd floor. Our room on the 1st floor was so great that I assume it just got renovated itself. Since they only have three floors, they'd have been operating at at least 1.3 less capacity this year than normal. They couldn't have picked a better year to get a facelift! The TV was excellent, the room was stylish and impeccably clean. Since we arrived late, left early, and only stayed one night, I don't know whether the pool and exercise room are currently open or not. I concur with a few reviewers who bemoaned the sanitized breakfast offerings as slim pickings.. I refrained from taking any of the three options, even though they were free; my companion grabbed the Danish, and told me it was filling but not great. Nevertheless, I thought my experience was very good, that this was one of the better Fairfield's I've been to, and I would definitely stay here again were I spending a night in Fort Stockton.

EXCELLENT STAFF!!I just checked in after an extremely long day of travel and as tired as I am, I wanted to write this review because the two staff members (Reception - did not get her name and the Bar - Annie) were so helpful and welcoming - both went above and beyond. This is why I am so loyal to Marriott hotels. The bonus was that I then went up to my room and it is very large and nicely appointed. This was a lucky find for me in a very small Texas town off I-10 between El Paso and Austin. And now....to sleeeeep.
