  Nothing to complain

  It is a Fairfield Inn and you get what you expect, but they do it very well. Hotel, room, bathroom were clean, beds were comfy, and it was a very quiet night!!! The breakfast are was well kept with the usual stuff and the receptionists were very friendly. Would stay here again anytime.

  Decent rooms but customer service needs work

  We stayed at this hotel while traveling along the Indiana Toll Road recently. We arrived fairly late only to find out that the reservation system was down and we could not check in. We had picked up dinner locally so sat in the breakfast area to eat. After a while the front desk clerk told us he had manually made us room keys and we could go to the room. In all fairness the technical issue was not the front desk clerk's fault, he was filling in from a different property but he tried very hard to make up for the problems at check in. We were upgraded to a suite, however it was a double queen room not the king we had requested. This was quickly corrected however the next room was quite dirty, with food crumbs all along the base of the sofa, crumbs or other debris scattered on the carpet and stains on the sofa. We asked for another room and this one was clean although the sofa was quite stained (this seems to be a problem with fabric sofas in hotels generally). The last room we were given was clearly recently cleaned as it smelled of cleaning agents and you could see where the surfaces were wiped down. Normally this would be annoying but during the pandemic and given the dirty room we had left this was a comfort. The next morning when taking luggage to the car I had called an elevator to go back to the room. While waiting a housekeeper walked up without a facemask and waited for the elevator as well. Given the coronavirus pandemic I did not want to ride in the car with someone with no mask so when the car arrived I told her to go ahead and I would get the next elevator which she did. Given the room cleanliness issues and the fact that some staff were not taking pandemic precautions I would not stay here again.

  Many stays never a problem

  The room was average for a Fairfield Inn, nothing special. It was clean and fresh. The customer service at check in was fine. As I was riding a motorcycle I was invited to park it in front of the door under the roof to both protect it from the weather and where the front desk could keep an eye out.

  Great Place to Stay While Visiting Elkhart and the Surrounding Areas

  This hotel looks new inside and out. Our room was very comfortable and clean, and it provided us an excellent night of rest. Staff is very friendly and this hotel is located across the street from a nice grocery store and within a few miles of several restaurants. I wish we would've booked for two nights instead of just one.

  Not the place to stay if you're looking for covid safety

  I made a reservation for this hotel but did not get farther than the check-in desk. That is because I do take covid safety seriously and appreciate it when a hotel follows through on the covid safety promises that they have stated online and on postings around their property. When I arrived to check in here, it appeared that there was a small convention of sorts on site. Multiple people were hugging without masks in the lobby. I noticed a group of meeting organizers wearing masks but telling attendees they could take theirs off when they went into the meeting room. Since I had to wait a few minutes for the front desk attendee to show up, I looked down the hall and did notice many people not following the signs posted around the hotel about social distancing and masks. This concerned me that my family would be riding in elevators and getting breakfast in the lobby area with this same group. When the front desk attendee arrived, I asked her if the hotel enforces the mask requirement like they state. She said, "Not really." I asked for a refund because I no longer planned on staying there due to this and she obliged without any problems. I'm sure some guests prefer hotels that are looser on the safety requirements. That's not me. Just wanted to let other travelers know in case it affects their decision to book. We ended up staying at Home2 by Hilton across the street and I felt very safe there. New and clean too!
