Nice hotelWeve stayed at this location twice in the last two weeks, two rooms each visit. The rooms are updated, very clean, and comfortable. In a time when most hotels weve visited are dropping breakfast, Fairfield Inn is still starting your morning with good grab-n-go options- hot breakfast sandwich, fruit, and granola bars.

Does not take Covid-19 SeriouslyWe stopped on July 25, 2020 on our way back to Indiana from Florida. Despite many signs saying that masks were required by Marriott policy and Alabama state law, we saw at least three employees, including the housekeeping staff, in public areas without masks on. When we mentioned this at check out, the Sunday morning front desk assistant (Makayla I believe) advised that Marriott did not require employees to wear masks unless they were within 6 feet of someone else (which - at the very least - these people were when we walked past them in the hallway). She further told us it was "impossible" for them to wear masks while cleaning guestrooms. This was obviously disheartening as they had proudly told us upon check-in that they were taking extra care to sanitize rooms between guests. That only goes so far if the person in charge of cleaning doesn't wear a mask! Overall the room was fine, and the area is lovely. But if we had known that their employees weren't wearing masks while "sanitizing" rooms, we wouldn't have stayed there. We were also very put off by the desk clerk's attitude on the masks. We weren't asking for a discount, we just though they'd want to know. Suffice it to say, I wouldn't go back, and I doubt I'll stay at a Marriott property again with this attitude toward cleanliness during Covid.

Very clean, convenient to I-65Our room and the entire property were both very clean. Check-in was fast and efficient. Since we were traveling and arrived late, we did not make use of the gym or pool. Internet speed was fast. The hotel is close to I-65 with easy access BUT just far enough away not to get much traffic noise. There was and iHop immediately next door and a few restaurants in the surrounding area. Breakfast is limited but it is that way everywhere due to COVID. What I appreciated most was the fact that breakfast items were kept behind the front counter to avoid other people handling things. If I'm traveling through this area again, I would not hesitate to stay here.

Older hotel but makes it up with serviceThis hotel is on the old side but it was clean, safe, & everyone was nice. The attention to detail related to Covid was great. I felt very safe staying here in a pandemic. I used mobile checkin and went straight to my room with absolutely no contact. The next day, I learned that they even serve you the normal hot Marriott breakfast in to-go containers. They make it safe by serving you and letting you order. This was a nice touch after I stayed at a SpringHill suites in elsewhere for $330/night which changed to only muffins and cereal. Not sure why the Marriotts are different with breakfast but I will definitely stay here again. Lots of things in the areas make it a good interstate stop. The newer hotels make my ascetically more pleasing but I recommend this.

NastyWe were heading home from Destin- looking to find a place with a pool so our little guy could burn some energy. We checked in and headed straight to the pool. It was disgusting. My son stepped on the first step to make sure it wasnt the color of the bottom- it was slime. The front desk attendant told my husband it was just the liner. She wouldnt listen when he told her it wasnt so she went with him to check it out. Needless to say when she did give him our money back but not until after he had to wipe the slime off a step and show her! Ridiculous. Not impressed with you today Fairfield.
