    DIRTY ROOM DURING COVID

We arrived and dropped of our luggage and returned for bed about 930pm Thursday. Both beds had stains on the sheets & one of the beds had a long black hair. We were tired and going to take care of the issue in the morning. The bathroom had several different hairs in the bathtub, we discovered in the morning. We were 4 people, two of them grandkids. I went down in the morning to pickup our sack breakfasts and the clerk said they did not have any. I asked if they could go to the store and get items for breakfast since there order did not come in? I was told by this person that she could not do that. I asked for the mgr and was told she would not be back in the hotel until Monday, 4 days later. We had made reservations weeks ago for 3 nights. I asked for the mgr to call me which never happened. I then went to purchase breakfast for us. On the way back I stopped at another hotel not even half a block away, Hampton Inn, they were so kind and offered us a room and even breakfast for that very morning. I went back to the room and we decided to switch hotels. I called the front desk and canceled the rest of our reservation and was told that the front desk person did talk to the mgr. We went to the other hotel who were awesome and welcoming and made sure we had all that we needed. I never heard from the other hotel and never got a survey to fill out either. Never once did the front desk offer any other accom. or apology for the room. The charges went through for the full amount though.

Dirty Run Down Hotel with no Sound Proofing and dismissive Management

We stayed at the FAIRFIELD ALAMOGORDO on June 11, 2020 and it was NOT a good experience. Being loyal to Marriott branded hotels, we chose to stay at the Fairfield in Alamogordo over the much better rated Holiday Inn. We also thought the higher price and exterior reflected what should have been a better stay. However, after checking in, we discovered hallways and doors that were scuffed and scratched all over the place. Once in the room, we discovered similar scratched up and marred furniture, dingy sheets, pillows that smelled musty, and worst of all...a dusty, dirty room (particularly concerning during COVID-19). The remote control was absolutely disgusting and we ended up cleaning it with our own Clorox Wipes. We were tired after a long day of driving so opted to just go to sleep which presented a new problem. This hotel has absolutely no sound proofing. We could hear EVERYTHING going on outside and there was a particular vehicle that would constantly start up and drive by with loud exhaust. Additionally, we could hear trucks driving by on the highway that was over 2 blocks away. It was not a restful night. When I reported all of this to the manager the next morning, she seemed very unconcerned and dismissive. Not surprising when you consider that when she first came out she had a cell phone in her ear that she initially refused to put down until I asked her to. She said she was talking to "Corporate" which I highly doubt. She is not a good manager and if you read the reviews for this property you will see many people who have had run-ins with her and have also felt dismissed or outright lied to. I actually told her she should read the reviews...she said she read them all because she responded to them. Funny that I dont see any responses to any of the reviews here. We still have a week's worth of hotel stays on this trip, but we avoided all other Fairfield Hotels after our experience at this one. We elected to mostly stay at Best Westerns which proved to be a much more positive experience. Someone needs to take a hard look at the management and condition of this hotel as it is not run well and is in very bad shape.

Great Location - Marlin is great!

Comfortable quiet hotel. We had a nice suite with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher. Short walk to several restaurants. About 15 minute drive to White Sands National Park. The pool and hot tub were closed due to COVID. Nice work out area, outside sitting area with a charcoal and propane grill (hotel will supply propane but not charcoal). There is a coin operated washer and dryer on the first floor. Parking is free. Thank you Marlin at check in who was very helpful and professional at check in and check out. Everyone wore masks in the hotel. There was hand sanitizer at the front desk. I would definitely return to this hotel!

Close to White Sands National Park; modern hotel interior

I stayed at this hotel in November 2020 for 2 nights. Our sole purpose was to visit White Sands National Park. The location was terrific as the national park is only 15 minutes away. A truly magical experience! The hotel was modern and had a refreshing, chic appeal. The rooms were well-appointed. The beds and pillows were nice. I enjoyed my stay. There were some nicks and scratches as well as scuffs here and there in the room and common areas that could be maintained better. Otherwise, the room was in great shape. Due to Covid, there is a pre-made bag breakfast, which was more than ample for us. There are restaurants around the hotel. There are lots of highway giftshops in the area which were fun to visit. I took a nice picture in front of the world largest pistachio. Make sure to drive to nearby Cloudcroft up in the nearby mountains. Otherwise, there isn't much to see in this small town.

    Short stay...noisy hotel

This hotel is in a good location as far as being in Alamogordo. The hotel is across the street from another scary looking hotel, so we were a little worried about our car all night. Due to Covid they have a grab and go breakfast, but its prepackaged so you do not get to choose. My breakfast bag included orange juice but my husband's only had water. The rooms were efficient, but we had a wet floor and a sticky residue on the floor by the bed. I try not to think of what it could've have been. The pool was closed due to Covid, but oddly, the gym was open?? The floor was noisy with absolutely NO soundproofing. In our room we could hear our neighbors word for word. I first thought someone was standing by our door being super loud, but when I opened the door, they were just in their room talking. You can hear EVERY room door opening and closing. I'm really starting to hate how many times I have to put noise complaints in my reviews. If for some reason you're just passing through Alamogordo do yourself a favor and visit the white sands. It was BEAUTIFUL, I could have stayed all day.
