One in a million little jewel in the bush

Faasai is in ur own little world and like no other. Its called Faasai Resort and Spa and is boutique and appeals to a nice clientele too. Resort in itself as a word is not a great fit for this community offering accomodation to others. Its more like a a variety of accomodation from villas to cabins or bungalows in a well kept bush setting. There is a nice pool and a good bungalow used as a spa by the pool and a great masseur on hand who is worth the time and money to have uncrinkle you from your travels (ask for Sula) Thats where the similarity would end for those expecting a conventional resort. What makes it community like is the staff who will understand you and your needs and their relaxed but authentic way of meeting them. The dining room too which guarantees excellent food made with love and do highly recommend the local fare from the sea. Trick is to let the kitchen know about midday if you want something epic like monster prawns or crabs which are plentiful and theyll get what you want straight off the boats which are very nearby. The dining room is a meeting place and the news of the day is shared and plans are laid for the next adventure. The grounds are th bottom acres of a special bush cover hill (NZ Hill) Asian mountain , with a spring up the top somewhere. The spring water is used in the Resort and is heavenly soft water to bathe in and refreshes your bones too somehow. The sea and a surprisingly good beach is around the corner with beach side restaurants in the Thai style and a lookout which is popular at sunset with the local and local tourists. Around that headland and also only minutes on a scooter (two available for rental from Faasai) from Faasai is a large shallow harbour alive with sea and bird life (watch the skies for eagles) and is worth a tour in a longboat to see it all. Faasai will organise it. For those who cant resist a take home trinket do not miss the gem stone markets in Chanthaburi 35 kms away. Ask Sula to take you and trust that she knows where to take you and buy up large dont cone home regretting the ones that got away like me, you will be able to buy an enormous glittering jewel for less than $100 NZ if that floats your boat. Highly recommend this affordable one in a million little place far away from the madding crowd and usual tourist trade to unwind explore (perfect spot for active relaxers who like the sea and dont crave the usual Thai tourist trails). I left feeling like I had made new friends who understood me well. Happy trails folks

Nice relaxing place with very friendly staff

We had a really nice time in this quiet place. We stayed 5 nights and had a relaxing time. Nice swimmingpool and good food made by Sula our cook! Nice to see the foodforest and we left with a full bag of banana s. The staff is very friendly and serviceminded. The only thing we didnt like was the beach nearby. Very dirty, lots of plastic. This would be the reason not to go back to this area.

    Another wonderful stay

Once again I have had a very relaxing stay at Faasai Resort and Spa and it was lovely to meet up with Bronwen and Surin again who are the owners and all the lovely staff who work there. It was my 13th stay and I feel like I am staying amongst personal friends and not just staff. They took me to see a beautiful blue and white temple and Buddha Park one day and we had a great time together. I always look forward to the fresh fruit which mainly comes from their farm. Sula, the manager/cook drove me on her motor bike another day to a local hair salon where I had my hair done and I would certainly recommend it. I always stay in a villa which has a huge terrace in the front and it is lovely to just sit, do a bit of reading and take in all the surroundings. After a hectic time in Bangkok it is something to look forward to.

    A Great Place

I went to Faasai to meet and spend time with one of the owners. I absolutely loved it. This is beautiful, rustic, authentic. The jungle and the ocean both feel wonderful. Long walks visiting Buddha statutes and along the beach on the Gulf of Thailand. The landscaping of the property is magnificent. A Bodi tree for meditation. Flame trees for bright orange canopies over the driveways. The staff is very helpful and charming. Food is simple and delicious - very fresh ingredients. I was staying in "The Penthouse" - wonderful patio with incredible view. Very nice pool.
