    Not

The room was Ok but the receptionist was rude and not welcoming. She took aloong time to check me in and was so stressed out. Very poor breakfast. There was a lot of noise from the other rooms. Definitely not coming back again.

    Worst experience ever

I originally booked an accessible room at the 52 4th Ave hotel with their call center about 5 weeks in advance. This is for a 6 week stay as my wife would be going to Dana-Farber and Brigham and women's for chemotherapy and radiation treatment. I then followed up with "John" at the front desk twice two weeks prior to confirm the stay. The room was confirmed or so I thought. Upon arrival I waited more than ten minutes to be waited on by the front desk attendant, who was carrying on a conversation the whole time I was standing there and did not acknowledge me to let me know he would be right with me. When he finally wrestled the phone away from his ear and sensed my frustration then after learning my last name told me I was moved to the other hotel as this hotel did not have an accessible room for me. My reason for choosing this hotel was it was a completely smoke free hotel, the last thing we want is cigarette smoke around us as my wife is being treated for a cancerous brain tumor. Their other hotel had smoke free room but it was not smoke free site. So with some anger I left and went to the other hotel. When I first opened the lobby door the overwhelming smell of pot smoke was very prevalent. Well I'm stuck at this point, my wife is paralyzed on one side, it's late in the afternoon I need a place to stay. We get to our room and it is a step up from a dorm room. We unpack, get settled, have dinner delivered. Then at 8pm my wife is in bed, I'm in the kitchen when all of a sudden someone opens my door, which had the deadbolt and slide lock engaged. But their card could access and release the dead bolt but not the slide lock. I slammed the door in his face and yelled what the hell are you doing? He replies oh sorry. I look through the peephole to get a look at him but he was gone. I tried to call the front desk with the rooms phone but it was dead. So I blockaded the door to prevent or delay anyone trying to enter again. The next day I initiated a complaint to Mecca at the front desk, she states that the maintenance man is the only person that can see who tried to enter our room. I drove my wife to the hospitals for her treatments and upon our return was greeted with more pot smoke smell and was anticipating a reply, note, message about the night prior, nothing. While walking my dog at different times through the day, I observed several different cars riding around the hotel then parking far away from the entrance and some characters walking into the hotel, then a few minutes later walking out. Can you say someone is dealing in the hotel? After day 2 and no update on our attempted breaking and entering, no room service, a smelly lobby, extremely unpleasant staff, (whole other story about packages delivered for my wife's treatments but "were missing" ) even after verification of the mgrs signature. We found Residence Inn across the road which is cleaner, safer, friendlier, and much nicer than the drug den of Extended Stay America. So we moved out 2 days into a 6 week stay and a loss of over $4000 to extended stay America. When we checked out Mecca said your leaving early, everything ok. I said no, she replied why. I then informed of the lack of effort in trying to find out who tried to enter our room, her response was "oh they didn't get back to you". Secondly the smell of pot smoke and the fact my wife has a brain tumor and I dont need this, her reply, oh some of our guests smoke in their room. So very long story but the end result, I would sleep on the street before ever staying in this mess. Stay away!!!

    Great staff and service.

The hotel itself is clean and comes with all the basics, nothing fancy but a nice affordable place in the Boston area. What made my stay excellent was the service of the staff, Christine at the front desk especially was always helpful and made me feel at home. Also the cleaning and maintenance staff were on top of everything. Would definitely stay again.

Worst experience - DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!

Please understand that I am world traveled. I was an International Stewardess and have traveled to over 30 countries and 5 continents. In my second career I held a job where I traveled %90 of the time and had the opportunity to be a member of the Hilton Honors Club as a Diamond Member as well as the Marriott Chain, etc. I have checked into this property in December 2020 and was a guest for over 5 weeks. This property is so badly managed and I will name the GM Nick as being horrendous and his AGM Kristi almost as bad! This property is filthy. Management allows criminals to stay on property as long as they are paying the bill. Housekeeping does not wear masks and the place if filthy. I had a neighbor that was a drunk who abused her 6 month old and management turned the other way and sided with this guest who threatened my life. They steal from you and you will get Covid - stay away! The worst experience in all my 20 years of travel!

Sending respect to the hard working staff!

As a resident here at the Extended Stay I'd like to say that I've gotten to know and appreciate some great hard working people here. The front desk has always been quick to resolve any issue that I've encountered during my time here, unfortunately they recently had a great employee move away as Edison was one of the coolest and most attentive guys working at this hotel, the rest of the front desk are great too helping all guests needs and issues promptly. Julius, James, Mariano and Carmen are hard working and great employees and E.S.A is lucky to have them. The Managers have done a great job especially with some of the issues both regular and crazy they have to deal with on a daily basis. The Maintenance and housekeeping people behind the scene Josh, Jamie and Brian have done a great job keeping this hotel spotless during this Covid pandemic. If the staff is temporarily away from the desk they are Cleaning, doing laundry, assisting guests and doing whatever they can to keep this place running smoothly. In my personal opinion Brian is the hardest working guy on this property and deserves a raise effective immediately. Lastly id like to add that there are a lot of negative posts that are pre Covid and the staff here has gone above and beyond keeping this place clean and Covid free. Greg J 105
