  The Good, the Bad, the Ugly

  We are traveling from Florida to Las Vegas and trying to do it on a budget for research. The executive inn and suites is a mom and pop establishment seated right off the I 10 in Texas. The good: the price - under $60 before taxes. very friendly staff, the lobby was clean and welcoming during open hours, the suite was spacious with a separate dining/sitting area from the bedroom coffee pot in the room, mostly updated room carpet/paint, clean comfy bed and pillows. The bad: motel style rooms so safety may be an issue, slight musty odor in the room, outdated furniture but clean, the lobby closes at night The ugly: the bathroom fixtures need to be updated, there are no drain plugs in the sink or the bathtub, the caulking around the tub needs to be redone, rusted old tissue holder that should be taken down, there was a broken wall fixture for a plug which left a hole in the wall. Notes: the pictures make it look worse than it was. They are clean, but stained. if you are used to the Hilton or the Ritz Carlton do not bother staying here you will be very disappointed. This property is between a motel 6/super eight and the bottom line of Hampton Inn. I would recommend this to certain friends, but many of our friends would not enjoy property. We believe it was clean enough for children, no signs of vermin.

  MS 150 Overnight Rest Stop

  I was able to get in a late booking at the Executive Inn and Suites in Schulenburg for the annual MS 150 bike ride from Houston to Austin. Cindy did a great job reserving 2 rooms for my group of 4 at the last moment. The rooms were great value given the close proximity of the huge riding event (11,000+ riders) and overnight stop nearby. When we checked in we found our rooms to be in great shape. We all had a wonderful time relaxing and getting rest for the next day's ride into Austin. We will be back next year. Thank you again!

  Cheap and you get what you paid for

  The room was very Smelly - a type of cat urine spray Although the wifi was free as advertised it was not a secure wifi (not even password secure) so wasn't able to conduct business transactions AC noisy

  Be careful when booking room here!!

  We booked a room at this hotel in November 2017 through Booking.com then cancelled our reservation well within the cancellation deadline. We canceled our reservation at this room and went somewhere else. However we still received a charge on my credit card for this room even though we had canceled our reservation well within the window to not have to pay for the room. Both booking.com and I tried to contact the hotel directly to resolve the issue and they refused to cooperate. Booking.com contacted the hotels corporate headquarters in order to receive a refund for my credit card because the hotel including the manager said they could do nothing for me. According to the hotel they do not have a computer and they also told booking.com that their fax machine was broken and therefore they said they never received the cancellation notice. However in this day and age with the computer technology we have I find that hard to believe; how can a hotel manage their work without a computer? Therefore, I will never ever book a stay with this hotel or any executive inn hotel within their chain as well. Although we did not stay at this hotel I am putting this review on to warn other people please be very careful when booking a reservation at the executive inn and suites in Schulenburg.

  Excellent Value

  The room had one King bed on a slightly raised platform...with a waist high divider between the bed and a seating area on the entry wall. I can still see the great tub and shower area and the sinks near the w/c along the back wall. Pretty standard fare...but I felt very comfortable. Loved the shower/tub, small cozy, quiet, good mattress and very clean! Slept so well. Can't remember their names...but management was very friendly. I'm coming back in two months...for the Schulenburg Sausage Fest. My experience with this Executive Inn was Excellent...and they don't know I'm submitting this review.
