Clean and quietHotel Europa in Pforzheim is a small and pleasant hotel. Rooms with balconies are a good choice. Nice cleaning. WIFI is sometimes a bit slow. It offers a simple and tasty breakfast. Kind staff at the reception

Average HotelMy Husband was on a business trip and I went with him,we stayed in this moderate average hotel. Very close to Train station and to city center with all the shopping areas. However the room was really bad and very small. Room service charges on changing the bed sheets more than once within your stay. Breakfast very poor and above this all there is no elevator in this hotel !!!

Good, clean, family-run hotelWe've stayed in this hotel a few times when visiting family. It's well-located, behind the station. It's quiet (the station is not a problem). The rooms are clean, though basic, and the beds are comfortable. Free wifi is available. The hotel doesn't have a lift. Once we were on the 3rd floor and definitely felt the cardio workout! There are a two or three free parking spaces in an inner courtyard and a few free places in the street outside. I understand that there is an underground (paying) carpark but I haven't used it. The breakfast is very good: breads, pastries, cereals, juice, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheeses. The staff are friendly, helpful and speak English. I would definitely recommend this hotel to those who want somewhere clean and comfortable to stay without paying a fortune.

Only for one nightThe rooms are small and very simples, some have balconies. The breakfast is not very good and we don't have many choices. The hotel is near the train station but the hotel is quite. The price is too high for the quality.

Clean basic central hotel, but very spartanI stayed here for three nights while on a course. This is a decent central hotel but in my opinion does not justify a three-star classification at all. I arrived after midnight and was advised to use the automated check-in machine - so far, so good, but the thing wasn't working as easily or as correctly as one might expect! Fancy faffing with reservation papers, credit cards and ID documents in an unknown street in an unknown town in pitch black dark as a lone traveller? And then the machine does not find your reservation, so that you have to put in every single personal detail? Nah. After ten minutes, I was finally in, having been given the room type I had reserved, but the system only had booked me in for one night. Nevermind - the beds are fairly comfy (bit soft), I slept well, and the front desk sorted that out the next morning. My double room was rather small but had a small quiet balcony with nothing on but an ashtray. Now I wonder what is the point of having a balcony when there is nothing on it?? Even if you smoke you may want to bed your bottom somewhere while smoking. Furnishings are dated, carpeted floor is a bit stained but kept clean, the bathroom could really do with an upgrade. Everything is very clean, though. What worked well? -It is very central - 3min from the station and about 10min from the city centre (shops) on foot - At the same time, it is quiet - Staff is very friendly. Everyone I interacted with was really friendly and helpful. - WiFi worked fine and is free and unlimited - this is NOT standard in German hotels! What could be improved? - TV did not work well at all - no reception of even the most basic free channels, only made worse by my attempt to re-tune it. - For three stars, you would expect drinks in the room, at least water. - No tea and coffee making facilities. - Only the most basic toiletries (tiny piece of soap and one sachet of shampoo) and a minimal amount of slightly scratchy worn towels. - There was a small table, but it was uncomfortable working from a dining chair after a very short while - Bedside lights were a joke and no good for reading. It is not worth what I paid for it, and at present their rate is over 80 EURO for one night, which in my opinion, is far too much for this very basic accommodation, however clean and friendly it is. I would stay there again (because it is safe, clean and friendly) but rates would have to be significantly lower than advertised.
