Why I'm paying so much? The hotel is located near the railway station, it's on a lateral street therefore the sorrounding is normally quiet, even if quite populated during the evening/night so you may not feel really confortable when you retourn late. The reception is always open, but they speak a relly poor english... The rooms are so-so good enought to sleep there, i got a room on the 5th floor, looking the map and into other rooms when cleaning i saw that there are great differences among different rooms, mine was one of the smaller albeith proposed as a double room (double bad in it). It has a private bathroom in average conditions and cleaning is performed everyday. The breakfast is included, but the buffet is poor, somedays totally disapponting... frozen yogurt and old cakes... summarizing is a hotel where is possible to stay if you are not planning to spent lot of time into it (no Wi-Fi in the room but just in the hall... that has not much space to sit there...) but the cost (100/night) is really exagerate for the service offered!

Arrived on a late train to FoggiaI rolled up to Hotel Europa by bike on September 17th 2013. The hotel looked okay from the outside and when I asked if they had a room they said the rate was 50 Euro and they had room for me. I checked in and went up to the room. What I saw when I opened the door was NOT a 3 star room, rather, a room where the walls were covered with nicotine stain and the room had an odor of smoking. I went down to ask for a non smoking room and they told me that I would need to pay 30 more Euro for a non smoking room. The room had a window so I chose to stay in the room I was given. The thing I had not yet seen was the bathroom. By the time I did look in the bathroom they were turning people away and it was pretty late for looking at another hotel. Who ever rated this hotel as 3 star should have another look and should look at all the rooms. The Bathroom was dirty, no other way to describe it just plane dirty. There was dirt in the corners under the sink, no liner in the waste basket, there was mold and mildew on the shower curtain and in the shower. The towel racks were rusty it was just dirty. I proceeded to wipe down all surfaces with bathroom sanitizing handy wipes and put up with the rest of the dirt on the floor. However, I took photos of the bathroom and vowed to share with other travelers and hopefully the Hotel rating authority.

A Kind Man at ReceptionMy experience with the Hotel Europa is very limited, but it was all good. We had chosen another hotel for our overnight in Foggia, in part because of reviews on this site. The hotel we chose turned out to be a great distance from the Center. Hotel Foggia is near the center and near the train station. Before we got on a train leaving Foggia, we needed to call our bank. Free wifi in the station cafe was only for Italian phones. Carrying our suitcases, we walked blocks in the heat without finding a bank or international phone. We were passing Hotel Europa & decided to ask there. I explained our problem to the young man at Reception. He allowed us to use the wifi with no charge, offered us water, & helped us resolve our problem. If he was that helpful to non-guests I think he must be great to his own. This is a family run hotel. It is older. Don't go expecting an Anerican motel. It's Italy & close to the train station. Give Hotel Europa a try.

Quick night in FoggiaWe stopped in Foggia on our way to Padre Pio to spend the night. The Hotel is easily located 5mins away walking from the train station. Welcoming and helpful staff. The room is clean and ready when we arrived. Quiet environment. The breakfast had all the basics, the waitress was a very charming lady.

Still not sureA very clean and tidy motel which the staff obviously work very hard at it helps to avoid communicating with the clientele. It is situated in a great spot with easy access to trains and buses but also means it is not in the nicest part of town. We arrived on a Sunday and felt like we were intruding, we had to ask for towels as there were none in our room. Monday morning breakfast was very ordinary, the coffee machine was lit up but not working, I had to go to the kitchen and interrupt the young girl who was sitting on the kitchen bench on her phone to ask for coffee .Unfortunately I did not get the name of the male reception staff who went above and beyond to help us when we checked out late. The room was spacious and comfortable.
