  Buena relación calidad-precio

  Se trata de un Hostel/Hotel que se encuentra muy bien situado, y con un personal encantador en general. Los alrededores son preciosos en verano, con la exuberante vegetacion de las montañas alpinas más auténticas. En inverno, para los esquiadores, debe ser el paraíso. El precio es estupendísimo de verdad, sólo he echado en falta una limpieza un poco más "aparente", logicamente no puedes esperar como en un Hotel****, pero sí un poquito más, sobre todo en los baños. Las habitaciones tienen balcón, están instalando TV en cada una, y el restaurante, que sirve cenas desde las 17h, es barato y se come muy bien. El desayuno está incluido, y es un buffet, nada extraordinario, pero la verdad que dado el precio de las habitaciones, con toallas y sábanas incluídas, no se le puede pedir mucho más. En definitiva una muy buena solución para una estancia en lo más profundo de los alpes austríacos, que merece la pena, y mucho.

  Excellent Value - average hotel that makes a good base camp

  This hotel was an excellent value, and could not be better located for skiing/hiking at Stubnerkogel as it is directly across the street from the cable car and train station, next door to the Schwimbad and a large Spar. Being that this is sort of a youth hostel, the accommodations are somewhat Spartan in that they don't provide shampoo and the rooms are more rustically appointed. Our private balcony room was reasonably sized with an adequate bathroom and shower and cable TV. In short, the room was comfortable but not luxurious. We took half board while we were there. This was an excellent value, however, the food itself for dinner was hit or miss. The breakfast assortment was smaller than many, but adequate. There were one or two cheeses, a couple of meats, cucumbers and tomatoes, boiled eggs, cereal, yogurt, and one or two kinds of bread. Dinner was where it got inconsistent. To start, food in Bad Gastein seems expensive, and I supposed that's to be expected in a resort town. The overall package rate was so reasonable at 40ish Euro per night for half board for two that I didn't feel like we had to eat dinner there every night. That said, when I started to explore other places, I just wasn't up for dropping that much money on dinner. Dinner is a three or four course meal depending on what's on the menu. The included dinner is the meal of the day which consists of soup, salad depending on the day, a main dish with a side or two, and dessert. They have an a la cart menu, and I was not clear whether any of the half board went towards a different meal if one decided that they didn't want the meal of the day. Drinks cost extra, but are standard European price. The first night, the soup was barely seasoned, the wiener schnitzel was excellent, and the apple strudel meh. Second night, the food might have been sourced from American Airlines it was so meh. Third night, we ended up staying in even though I wanted to go out after the poor meal the night before, and the entire meal was outstanding. Go figure. We had a car while we were there, and I am very torn about whether we really needed one. It looked like the public transportation was excellent between the towns in the valley, and the train from Salzburg takes about the same amount of time as driving. The ski resorts also have transport. I liked the flexibility of not having to wait for the bus in the cold, but they also have taxi service. In short, this hotel is perfect for the cost conscious and for those who use the room as a base camp for activities and not as a destination.

  Bad food and service!

  A lot of noise from the street in the room. Very nice parking area and alway possible to park. The half board food is so bad, that we had to go out and have dinner on a restaurant in town, after the dinner in the hotel. Every night we did buy sparkling water and we had to ask for glass and ice. The only glass we could have was the breakfast glass and you know how smal thet are. :-( The table is too small to sit next to each other. The storage room for ski and boots is outside in a small room and there is no boots heater, so you start the morning on the slops, with wet boots.... and 1 chair to sit on when you change(1 one for all the guest, not one each) This place is not a 3 star hotel it is a hostel for young people, that don't care about the food and service.

  Mostly for sleeping

  Went to Bad Gastain for skiing, with a group off friends. Helpful reception. Buffet food was OK Rooms had a clean and good standard with nice bathroom. Ski storage in heated outside shed, no heater for ski boots. Bar at the hotel. Easy walking to ski lift, bus stop and Felsentherm spa. Neighbor are a supermarket.

  A good basic hotel / Hyvä perushotelli

  A great location and a great view to the mountains. A short way hiking and ski and to the spa. The centrum also nearby. In the neighbour there was a grocery store and also the railwaystation. The staff was friendly and the food in the hotels own restaurant was good. The room was pretty big and basic, no air conditioning. The breakfast was poor, but we got the needed energy for day-hiking. Recommended. Erittäin hyvällä sijainnilla ja maisemanäkymällä oleva hotelli aivan kaiken keskellä. Lyhyt matka rinteeseen ja kylpylään. Keskusta myös lähellä. Kauppa ja rautatieasema myös aivan naapurissa. Henkilökunta asiallisen ystävällistä ja hotellin omassa ravintolassa ruoka erittäin hyvää. Huone tilava, aika pelkistetty, ei ilmastointia. Aamupala melko köyhä, mutta kyllä siitäkin päivävaeltaja energiansa sai. Suosittelen.
