Attention to detail was amazing, the perfect country weakener.Don't hesitate to book here. It's big enough for three couples or a big family with everything you could possible want included. Fresh cut herbs on the kitchen windowsill, generous breakfast, dinner and nibble's provisions. Big country kitchen, about 6 bikes and helmets, fluffy towels, robes, an oil heater in every room as well as a combustion fire place. Heaven! This is how country accom needs to be done everywhere. Thank you. Roch.

Absolutely Beautiful!!!This is a beautiful little cottage that is wonderfully maintained and so much love and care put in for every guest. We arrived for a family weekend away and I fell in love as soon as I walked in the door. The cottage was beautifully cleaned and not a detail was spared. The fridge was stocked with bacon, eggs, tomatoes, juice, milk, butter, bread, wine, chocolates and the list goes on, not to mentioned the lovely meal that was in the fridge for us to prepare that night. The fire was lit and there was a lovely ambience about the cottage. My initial contact with the owners was fantastic, they were very quick in replying back to my email and gave us all the information we could need for the weekend. I was sad to leave and wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

StunningLoved this place. It was huge. 3 large bedrooms with heaters and dressing gowns. A massive bathroom with shower and bath. Living room with log fire - easy to work. Games for kids and adults. Dining room with log fire. Kitchen has everything you could possibly need. Beautiful gardens to walk in. Free bike use. Washing facilities. Great location. Will definitely go back.

Fantastic 150 year old cottage, modernized for great comfortEthel's Cottage couldn't have been a better place to stay. Although it is about 15 km from Clare, no matter. Some of the best wineries are close by (kilikanoon, Grosset). But mainly, the hosts have left no stone unturned in the amenities provided. For starters, there are fresh eggs, bacon, tomatoes and herbs from the garden for a great breakfast. The local butter and large assortment of jams is a nice accompaniment. Lots of milk, freshly ground coffee for French press, and a good deal of fresh fruit. The cottage itself is large and lovely, with touches from 150 years, like amazing fireplaces. The wood-stove in the living room keeps things very toasty and wonderful, and there is ample supply of long-burning eucalyptus. Look out the front window over old vine vineyards, or stroll in the beautiful garden among fruit trees. Want to go for a long walk, run or bike ride, the riesling trail is right around the corner, 300 meters behind the house. In this bucolic part of the world, I don't think you could do better than this historic stone cottage.

They thought of everything (and more!)We loved our two-night stay at Ethel's Cottage. It was meticulously presented with super soft and clean towels and linen. They thought of everything we could possibly need (and more) and the fridge and pantry was so well stocked that we could have stayed a couple of extra days and not gone hungry. They provided a trundle bed for our toddler and even a couple of little treats, which was very thoughtful. She enjoyed exploring the beautiful garden and running on the expansive lawn. We used a couple of the bikes provided to explore the nearby Riesling trail. It was a very hot weekend and we were comfortably cool in the cottage. We will definitely recommend Ethel's cottage and hopefully we can stay again soon.
