  Last minute holiday

  We booked a room with a private pool which was fantastic and was quite private. Due to the nature of the resort many of the balconies are not private. The building does block the sun during points in the day but we were later season, so might be better in the height of summer. But there are still 2 further pools to sit by, one that is heated and another one with a swim up bar and jacuzzi, which was a bit colder, but it was October. The beds and pillows are so comfortable and the air conditioning works very well, and not noisy. Food was buffet style, which in fairness wasnt always hot, but all very tasty. There is also a snack bar and a la carte restaurant where the food was just amazing, and such good value for money. The barman - Adam - so good. Very attentive and friendly. You can either sit at the bar, or on one of the very comfy terraces with wonderful views of the sea. From the owner, Yammi and Manos, the manager, George and all the others we met, I honestly cannot fault their service, kindness and friendliness. We had such a relaxing and fun time. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND and we will be back. Didnt explore the area too much, but very close to other bars, shops etc., and a quaint little village. Ten minute walk down a hill, and more shops. The area is hilly.

  COVID Who?

  We had originally booked to go to Barbados for two weeks at the beginning of October. Sadly, due to COVID-19 our plans were scrapped. We were of the mindset that we were entirely comfortable with travelling during the pandemic however, it was best to go somewhere in Europe in case something should happen and wed be closer to home as opposed to the Caribbean where a flight home is somewhat of a similar price to a months rent. Crete, at the time was still on the UKs Airbridge. An hour after booking (literally) Grant Shapps announced they were taking Crete off. Yet, we still agreed to go as we are both fortunate enough to work from home. Id kept a close eye on Esperides from their fantastic reviews and amazing deals and decided to book. We had free transfers to and from Heraklion, upgraded to half board free of charge and also given 10/15% off vouchers to use at the bars. It was non-negotiable for us to have the junior suite with a jacuzzi, what a fantastic addition to an already well decorated suite. Everything about the room was spot on and also what you would expect during a pandemic: spotless. The only minor, tiny feedback I could give about the room is that at a 4* Spa resort, you would usually see conditioner in your complimentary toiletries and not a dispenser in the shower. Everything about this resort is refined to perfection, the decor, the facilities and the wonderful staff. There was a great choice of food and a range of difference cuisines to choose from every night. All of the staff made us feel welcome from the get go, everyone was polite, friendly and had a smile on their face. The only thing I would encourage you to do if you stay at this resort is: Go out and explore. Esperides is situated near some beautiful villages that are filled with shops and restaurants owned by locals who have been hit hard by this pandemic. We ventured out a couple of times and Im so glad we did. It is around a 10 minute walk downhill to Hersonissos to the beach however, I would recommend a taxi to Malia beach where you can rent double sun beds for 5 a day. We also visited the tourist centre next to the hotel where we booked tickets for the Malia boat trip which was again, great value. I couldnt recommend this hotel more, a fantastic stay and we will be back.

  Wonderful Honeymoon

  We had such a wonderful honeymoon at this hotel. This is really a wonderful place to be. The staff is so helpful and kind. We will never forget this! The hotel is about 950m away from the beach up on a hill. A car is needed to make a sightseeing tour. You can get the car directly at the hotel. Have a good time there!

  Exceeded all expectations

  We booked quite last minute as our earlier booking got cancelled due to Covid-19 and we are so glad we found Esperides. We were lucky enough to stay in the platinum suite with the private pool and the most comfortable sunbeds. The bedrooms and small kitchenette were really comfortable and stylishly kitted out. The in house restaurant was really nice, a Buffett style system was done in a very Covid safe way with social distanced queues and staff serving the food. The breakfasts went down very well with my children especially the pastries with chocolate sauce and the views from the restaurant were lovely and added to the experience. We will definitely be returning to Esperides and we found some lovely restaurants both nearby and down in Hersonissos We used the spa for various treatments and really enjoyed this, even my 16yr old son had a facial. Would definitely recommend this resort for both couples and families it has a small and personal feel and the staff make you feel very welcome.

  Amazing Resort & Staff

  We Stayed here for 14 nights in late August/Early September last year. What an amazing experience this was. We loved every minute of our Holiday. We were Half Board and ate breakfast most mornings it was really nice. The staff and manager Manolis I think his name was were so welcoming. We are a gay male couple and always a bit apprehensive of how we will be received but I can assure you this hotel goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. We finished most evenings up in there bar was such a nice atmosphere. Room was perfect for us. However we have booked to return in July this year but are bringing my mom so have paid the extra for a one bedroom villa so we have some privacy. If your travelling to Koutouloufari you must stay here you won't be disappointed it's a beautiful hotel and resort. Also a big thank you to George and Sophia who were also both amazing people. See you in July.
