  Very disappointing

  My partner and I visited here for 2 nights. On arrival the owner was very unfriendly. Just handed me the keys and got back to what she was doing. The room was reasonably clean but I would have expected the facilities to be better for a 4* B&B. I would say more 2*. The whole place had a bad smell with damp looking walls and peeling wall paper. Our room was fairly clean, but not spotless. The bed comfortable. The shower was the worst I have ever used, low pressure, just a drizzle. It was impossible to wash my hair. The tiles in the shower were discoloured and some cracked. The wifi signal was none existent, maybe because we were on the top floor but signal boosters should be used when guests are expecting free wifi. The lighting in the room was poor, the light above the mirror didn't work. On leaving the owner again was so rude. She took the keys and said " Bye then". She didn't ask if we'd had a good time or if everything in the room had been ok. We've never had such an unfriendly stay in a B&B. The good things were the location is great and it was a good base for our stay. The parking was nice and easy and we were allowed to stay parked outside the property for the whole day after checking out. I love Whitby and will be back soon but unfortunately I will never stay at this place again.

  Don't visit!!!

  My friend booked a twin room.. The government issued local lockdown in my are of Bradford at 10pm night before I was due to set off on the Friday morning. I didn't see itunti 8am next morning so I had to let my friend know I couldn't go because I care for my dad and the restrictions stated I could go to pubs restaurants etc with group of friends I was meeting there. My friend tried to have a word with the lady of the house but was very rude and needed to get back to her tea!!! I left it till Monday and rang up and asked if I could possibly have my money back as it wasn't my fault due to covid lockdown of my city. She totally blanked me on the phone said no.. And if you don't like it get in touch with your mp and put phone down on me. How rude can one be. My mp did ring her up and she was the same with her also!!! Note.. Don't stay at this hotel.. Value for moneys out of window!!!

  No Breakfast!!

  Room was nice enough, but I was not informed that they are currently not doing breakfasts. There appears to be no contingency for informing people who book through 3rd party websites such as Expedia. Only found out they weren't doing breakfasts when I came downstairs in the morning and found a little A5 size note on a table down the hall. If I'd known they weren't going to be serving breakfast, I wouldn't have booked there. They had multiple opportunities to tell me, too; a phone call or email upon booking would have been a good opportunity. There wasn't even any mention in the email itinerary.

  Tired room and decor

  My wife and I stayed here for 1 night at £75 it was about right for the quality of our room. We were given room 7 which is on the top floor. The room had a sloping roof and a beam, the room needs a freshen up. The room had a 5ft wardrobe which only had half available for clothes. The bed was warm and comfy. The television was very small and kept on freezing. There was tea and coffee but no milk. There is no shaver point in the bathroom and no alarm clock in the room. One bonus is there as a small fridge. Due to COVID we did not meet the owners and did not have the breakfast option. Good location. The guest house is up for sale at the moment and hopefully the new owners will improve the facilities.

  Stayed two nights the room was nice and clean warm the beds are comfortable and clean and towels supplied the lady was very friendly nice place to stay would recommend not far from the centre of whitby five minutes walk good price aswell for two nights stay will book again recommend
