Happiness is wonderful place to stay with friendsBack for second visit and great to have such a wonderful place that could accommodate all 6 of us with such comfort and friendliness. Food excellent and great that we able to arrange ahead of time dinner on our first night. Nothing was too much trouble from both Eileen and Jes thank you to you both and we will look forward to another visit when next in Hawkes Bay Maureen and David Price. Auckland

Heavenly and fabulous stay+ It was winter when we stayed in this wonderful house. There was no other guests. The garden is fabulous in winter. We spent much time in the garden. + a balcony from the room lead to a magnificent view of their garden + Jes and Eileen were friendly and helpful. They put everything you need to know on a piece of paper. So read it before asking the same questions LOL. They invited us to wine tasting in the late afternoon so that we could know each other and talk about our experiences in NZ. + excellent breakfast which was prepared by Eileen and Jes. There was even a menu of different options of main courses. - the road towards their house was rather dark in the evening. Glad that they had put up a light at their house to guide the direction. GPS doesn't help much. - no heat pump inside the bathroom so it was rather cold.

Lovely experience in every way!A stay in NZ reminiscent of an English country home--beautiful flowering gardens on a farm, with charming hosts, wonderful breakfasts, evening wine hour. My only regret is having such a busy touring schedule, I didn't spend enough time enjoying the gardens or playing croquet....

Amazing StayBeautiful yard, gardens and views of nearby vineyards. Quiet and very peaceful setting. Accomodations and breakfast were amazing. The hosts were most gracious and very helpful to recommend visiting various points of interest in the Napier area.

Beautiful and RelaxingI really enjoyed staying here. I wished I could have stayed three days vs two, so I could have enjoyed the beautiful gardens. It's so peaceful here. I had the Reisling room and it was cozy and spacious. The home cooked breakfast was delicious. If you want a fresh hot breakfast, it's served from 7-8:30am. I had the crepes with organic bacon and it was good. I don't eat apples or pears, but the ones they set out for us in breakfast were amazing. Fresh oj, apples, pears, plums were all delicious. The only thing I'd recommend is that if you stay here to make sure to get to the lodge before it gets dark because there's no lights on the road and our Google Maps always took us to other locations and the road at night is pretty scary cause it's dark and not easy to make U-turns if you pass the entrance from the main road. Tips: if you decide to buy wine from the grocery store to enjoy at the lodge, bring your passport as ID cause the store clerk wouldn't accept my DL and even though my cousin had her passport the clerk wouldn't sell her the wine cause she was with me. Luckily the 2nd cashier leaned over and suggested to go across the street to go to the other store. Lol And also on the way to the city center as you leave the lodge there's a little market that sells ice cream with fresh fruit that's worth the stop.
