  Our favorite -- wonderful restaurant and great hotel

  We stay here every time we are in the area. The hotel and rooms are full of wood paneling and seem very local and quaint, yet everything is all updated and modern. Although the hotel is located in "town" it seems more rural with a large terrace and lawn area out back...and views of the nearby mountains. The restaurant and bar is over-the-top atmospheric and has wonderful food. The chef provides creative dishes based on local provisions and recipes. The restaurant is very popular with local people and businessman as well as hotel guests so it is wise to make table reservations. Note that there is no elevator and all rooms are at least one floor (or more) up from the entry level.

  Very nice room with a wonderful view

  We have stayed in Reutte many times but this was the first time at Alpenhotel Ernberg. Our experience was very mixed. Firstly our room was lovely, clean, had a balcony and also a fairly new bathroom. The hotel has no lift and there was no offer of help with our luggage. Fortunately my 80 year old parents room was on the 1st floor so I didn't have to drag their suitcases too far. My room (for myself and my 6 year old) was on the 3rd floor so I had to lift our cases up 5 flights of stairs. As other reviews have stated smoking is allowed at the bar and this is located right in the middle of the restaurant. Obviously some people don't mind this but I prefer my child not to be a passive smoker. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times and it was okay. We found that another hotel is very close by (which actually has a lift) and we preferred to eat there. So, our room was very nice, we preferred to eat 'next door' and we enjoyed the breakfast. I guess that we didn't really feel like guests here (we stayed 6 nights) just people passing through. I had to ask for the Visitors card that you are supposed to be given at check-in. The hotel is very close to Reutte's Thermbaths and you get 50% discount when showing the card. This card is available to all guests staying in and around Reutte.

  A long enjoyable weekend

  The staff are very helpful and polite and the food was truly outstanding, even for vegetarians. It's worth going just to eat there. The room was comfortable, clean and bright with a wonderful view down the valley. The manager and his father were particularly helpful, giving us local advice and helping with taxis. We would certainly return and we recommend this hotel very highly indeed.

  very nice place, very quiet, very good restaurant

  The place is easy to reach, nice rooms, parking, wifi, the view from the room to the Alps was very nice. The restaurant is excellent, The breakfast was also very good and I do not think something was missing.

  Very nice stay during Rick Steve's Tour

  We had a lovely room on the 1st (actually 2nd) floor with a balcony looking out over the lawn to the alps. It was so nice to sit there at the end of the day with a glass of wine and enjoy the views. The room was very comfortable, clean and the bed was great. We ate at the restaurant I believe two nights, and I remember it being very good and the service attentive and friendly. Breakfast was also excellent. We appreciated that there was a laundry room in the basement that cost 14 euros per load. I would recommend both staying at and eating at this hotel and restaurant.
