  Friendly service, WiFi sucked

  Friendly, competent staff, okay small room, nice kitchen. (By staff, I mean the three maids -- Holly, Peelie, and Goodness -- I never met any other staff my entire week there.) But some serious drawbacks: The wall mounted AC unit dripped heavily onto my bed; I had been forewarned not to go below 20C, but it dripped steadily on one corner of the bed at just 25C. There was a leaky bathroom faucet that puddled every day, and the room was poorly lit at night; it was either overlit or underlit. The door handle to my room door was essentially falling out of the door and needs to be replaced. The location was just so-so. The Airport Shuttle charges an additional 25% to drop one at Erlesmere Lodge, and the Airport Shuttle will not pick up from Erlesmere, one has to walk several blocks to Quarters Hotel on Florida Ave to be picked up. But the biggest drawback was the WiFi. I had specifically requested a room with a good WiFi signal. The WiFi sucked. It was dreadfully weak with long waits, signal drops, sometimes zilch, and on all three of my devices. Over and over I received cannot establish a secure connection messages. Or the signal would completely disappear for hours (on top of S. Africas frequent electric load shedding nonsense). Complete all online time-sensitive tasks before checking in here. (I had been off-grid for three weeks and arrived here with plenty of online tasks to complete so I found the poor WiFi extremely frustrating and a time suck.)

  No manager, no password for internet, the floor tiles were heavily cracked. The bathroom door came off the rail and couldn't be fixed. The bathroom is so small you have to move back into the room to dry yourself. The air conditioner was broken, bedside lamp not working! The place was clean.

  Great place. Clean and tidy. Although not very kid friendly. Lots of beautiful decor. Perfect for adults. Close to florida road and windermere shopping centre. Night manger can be a little rude . But otherwise I definitely recommend it.

  Lovely place, clean and tidy, close to florida road which is a big thumbs up. The night manager was so friendly and helpful. It had Spacious kitchen which was pretty cool..overall its a cosy Lodge definitely worth visiting

  Total shocker that this establishment has not been upgraded in the last 6 years that I had last visited it. The linen is still the same old, cockroaches which are as long as my middle finger roaming everywhere else even in the bathrooms! Old cracked basins / sinks, 1 ply cheapest toilet paper... shocked for days!!!! We slept only a night and checked out the following morning to another establishment
