Ideal location and service for skiingStayed at the Kitzbühler Horn last week in Feb 14 for skiing. The Hotel is idealy located for skiing. To reach the lift either take a smal ski school rope to the lift are walk distance of abt 150m without to much incline can be managed even in ski boots. The ski room of the hotel is very new and is having a cupboard, size of which is varying depending upon the number of sleeps in the room. The cupboard again is equipped with heatable bars for the boots, verry comfortable. The double room we have had was large enough to sit in with our friend for playing cards. Interior of the room was a bit outdated and furishers could have been replaced (old fashioned in apline style). Actually we were missing a minibar. In general staff was verry friendly and meals have been good with fol exception: For breakfast tehre was no real orange juice, only something which I expect to consist of 80% water and 20% instant "juice". Definetely not what you are expectin in a 4* Hotel. Dinner was good with 6 courses and you do need a lot of self-dicipline to do not eat too much. Prices for drinks at dinner and at the bars are verry reasonable. A short comment to the skiing area: For us it was a bit too easy. Actually our grade for this hotel would be neither "average" nor "very good", but just "good / 6 out of 10"

Good standard hotel in a quiet areaThis is the second time I have stayed at this hotel in the last 6 years. Oberndorf is a small picturesque village with it's own ski area, & is well situated to access the Kitzbuhel area, St Johann, Waidring, Fieberbrunn areas also. The hotel is a short walk from the Oberndorf ski lift, but a car / ski bus is required to access the other areas. Herr Heim (owner) & his staff are pleasant, and mostly speak good English. We were skiing in March, & Herr Heim provided good advice on the best areas to ski in the spring conditions. The hotel has an excellent breakfast spread, including bacon & eggs. The evening meal is a 5 / 6 course extravaganza, to a very high quality. The wellness areas are particularly good - there is an indoor/outdoor swimming pool, as well as sauna, steam rooms etc with the massage/facial services available upon request. The ski room is the best you will ever see! The rooms are comfortable in a typical Tyrolean way, large with plenty storage, mostly with balconies. Given the standard of the food, and the facilities, the cost per person per night is incredibly good value.

Hotel of past centuryWe expected much of this hotel with 4-star rating but it appeared to be an false illusion. Location os OK for skiing, and the accommodation for ski's is very good. However the hotel WiFi is only downstairs at the reception and in the bar. In the evening the bar is full of people with laptops, ipads and iphones. You can imagine that the wifi gets jammed too. Breakfast and dinner are OK, good service. Quality of rooms is very different, not all rooms are worth 4 stars. The newer part of the hotel is very nice, but the old part dates from the 70-ies or 80-ies and I guess the showers haven't been replaced since then. The swimming-pool is OK but rather small. The wellness is OK and large. So overall rather OK, don't expect too much, and leave your laptop or tablet at home!

Fabulous hotel - incredible foodJust got back from this hotel where I spent a week with my wife and two teenage children. Not sure what the other reviewer is talking about in terms of this being a dated hotel. It was a classy modern hotel for half the building and the other half was a well maintained stylish Austrian hotel with character. Fantastic food. 5 courses every night. My daughter and wife are vegetarian and they made great alternatives for them each night. Excellent service and nothing was too much trouble. Decent FREE wifi in bar for the kids and those who can't live without Facebook. Pool was really warm compared to most hotels and large enough. Hot tub not that hot though. Free bikes for hotel guests - just ask at reception. Suitable for most rides but they are not mountain bikes. Just in case you have forgotten anything there is a small but excellent supermarket about 500 metres away on the main road next the petrol station in Oberndorf.

StunningOn a clear day the views are epic. There are plenty of signs regarding routes and the time they will take to complete. Used the cable car up and down. Various prices available depending on what else you intend to do regarding transport and other lifts.
