An expensive shamblesReally wasn't very impressed with this place. First of all you might as well call it a hostel. All facilites are shared, the showers are not sectioned off...which for me personally isn't a problem. But for shy or older people I can imagine that it definitely would be. We arrived late, and after calling twice asking how it would work with us collecting the keys etc, I still didn't get a proper answer from the lady in charge. We turned up at nine, and were again given vague instructions on what to do and where to go. Finally in our room we settled in. We had to have breakfast as we had missed dinner the night before and the only snacks on offer were ice creams, chocolate bars and crisps. Absolutely starving, we made our way into the canteen area for breakfast. At 14 francs I expected at the very least, half decent quality cereals and maybe some eggs? But it was cornflake/sugarpuff type things for kids and some cold meat, cheese and bread. Absolutely no fruit in sight. Really disappointing and I wish we had gone to the local backerie for breakfast. We thought about having dinner but again the price put us off and it again was just a simple buffet. We decided to buy a bottle of wine from the hostel and had our own little picnic outside. Shortly after finishing the lady in charge came out and told us off for eating our own food....which came as a huge shock because the place really is just a hostel. We had bought beers and wine from there but she didn't seem to take that on board. We won't be returning here. It's a simple place for a bed to sleep but the breakfast was a rip off and I felt quite miffed that we weren't allowed to even have a sandwich outside...I mean, we didn't even sit inside! Come on...

Nice hostel with mountain viewsWe arrived here late one evening after our camp site we was meant to be staying at was closed. Me and my wife wondered in and asked if they had any rooms for the evening and was lucky enough to get one. The lady and her family who run it were extremely nice and couldnt do enough for us. The rooms are small and basic but have what you need. Toilets and showers are shared which is why the prices are low. Would stay again if Im lucky enough to return to Switzerland.
