  Spacious rooms, silent location, fair rates

  We stayed 2 nights in the Erice Mare and it was ok. Our room was very spacious and clean with a balcony. The owners are friendly and the rates are fair. The building is a normal concrete house, located at the end of a side road, therefore it is silent. The breakfast is ok but could be improved, it is a bit poor. It is only 2 a minutes walk to the sea. The Erice Mare is located in the small village Pizzolungo. The location is good for trips to Erice, Trapani, Riserva Naturale Orientata Monte Cofano and Riserva Naturale Dello Zingaro (both beautiful for hiking) and to Marsala (which is a one hour drive by car). It you just need a room with a fair rate and a small breakfast, it is ok.

  It's one for the money....

  You can run a B&B because you're passionate for the job or because you have a couple of extra rooms and you want to make some extra cash. The impression is that this is no job for them. Location first. Conveniently close to Trapani and Erice, the first being a recent Ryanair destination with a wide offer of tourist attractions (expect Ryanair standards) and the latter being a very touristic medieval village, this B&B would be an ideal base to visit both. It's also a few hundred meters from the sea although you won't find a beach within a few kilometres. Two small apartments were made in the attic (partially with low ceiling), furnished and equipped with the cheapest stuff you can find on the market. The sleeping couch is barely suitable for a very light child and you're going to feel sorry for him: bad mattress and a meter away from a cheap noisy fridge. Equipment is not in good conditions, chipped glasses you wouldn't drink from, all gives an impression of cheap and fragile. Architect Scrooge has left his mark. Cleanliness is ok provided that you only look where you're supposed to look. Big terrace, which had not been cleaned. Terrace furniture dirty and worn out by sun and weather. Hot beverages for breakfast in thermos bottles, too much effort preparing fresh ones for all those guests? Overall poor breakfast. Not recommended, we would never return!

  Fine facilities, warm welcome

  This was the first stop on our 60-hour lightning tour of Sicily. The welcome was extremely warm, the rooms clean, comfortable fairly basic - but the shower and bathroom as a whole was very upmarket and for the price we thought this stop very good value. The owner recommended us to a great restaurant in nearby Erice (don't miss - mountain top village, take the cable car, particularly at night), and breakfast was good.

  Nice Place

  Pleasant stay at Erice Mare. We had a large room with balcony and good air conditioning. Decent continental breakfast with fruits and pastries. It is about 10 min drive to Trapany town center and 10 minutes drive to Erice. Nothing super fancy but pretty good for the money. Cons: Bed spread had many spots and need to be changed. There was a little mold in the shower. If you use air conditioning there is a need for a blanket. Pros: Good location in a quite place. Big room. Good size bathroom.
