Completely regretful experience, even for half the priceIt's shorter to list what was ok than what wasn't, so i'll start there. Three out of ten people from personal we dealt with were nice: One in reception (senior man), one for booking spa services, and a cleaning lady. The natural area/location where the hotel is is good. The salt cave experience was nice, and the weather was great but that's not thanks to the hotel. Now what was disappointing, starting with the elevators, 2 for 7 floors, no guests stairs, we were on the 1st floor and it was painful. The room, like from the 1970s. Small, old furniture, and barely ok, not properly lit bathroom. It barely met the 4-stars standards (in my opinion it should be 3). And the room wasn't the worst. The most disappointing of all is the food situation. I'm astonished by other reviews. I feel betrayed by my other fellow human beings. What standards do we have on food from a 4 stars?? The all inclusive is a scheme to reuse bread and cakes from breakfast/lunch, with the perk of having coffee and juice without having to pay extra for it. That's all. My vegan girlfriend had to eat salad pretty much in every meal, and that's all. Even bread had milk in some cases! By i'm not vegan and I barely had anything interesting to eat, or different, and from what I chose, the quality was barely 3 stars. I've been in guesthouses in Austria with better food for around 10 guests max. Then on top of that, bread by lunch is already dried out, imagine at dinner. 85% of the food was the same from lunch to dinner and from one day to another. Watch this, on breakfast one day you had 1 jam flavour (only), and next one you'd have another one (only one again). Call that variation. Enough with the food, but it was a 1/10, the 1 because at least water was free. Other hotels could learn from that. Besides the salt cave, we got two 40 min massages, also regretful. There were nothing special, barely more than having a man (my case) or a woman (my girlfriend) touching your skin for 40 minutes. Because of the elevator situation, we were 5 minutes late, so actually we got 35 minutes of massage, and you can trust me that they were not on a tight schedule. Regret having those massages. The swimming pools...where to start. The smell was awful, mostly on the afternoon though. In the morning was ok, quite typical from Hungarian baths. But then we went to the sauna and it was mandatory to be naked. You can agree or disagree with that (we disagree) but on the way in, there were naked men outside of the sauna, left and right, on a mixed gender sauna. We complained to reception and they did nothing. We asked for spare towels at the pool (as indicated by reception) and the senior man taking care of the pool was extremely rude and dismissive. I've been living 7 years in Hungary so I'm used to certain things. Most of the staff in the hotel went beyond that average level of rudeness. The towels we got for the pool had holes and bleach marks. The shower curtain was mouldy...and then you have to pay 25 euros for bringing a pet but they give you absolutely nothing for him/her, moreover, they give you a worse room. You've to pay parking for a hotel in the middle of nowhere (objectively speaking, not literally). Not just never-again but if anyone asks me I'd strongly recommend against the Danubius hotel chain, and I'll be very careful trusting averages of reviews for hotels in Hungary. I'll stick to reading the 1/2 out of fire ratings, since they seem to be the only ones that have travelled enough to objectively rate hotels like this. Not just a bad experience, a loss of faith in Humanity.

Plenty happy guests, and lots of smiling staffStayed 2 nights, and were very satisfied with all: Facilities, location, parking (very reasonably priced), and, above all, the friendliness of the staff (room cleaning could have been a little more thorough, but never mind). Efficient front desk. Large sized restaurant can get very busy, but always features a good choice of food, and highly attentive service. Our room was not international 4 star standard, but I don't go to Hungary to have the latest appliances and gadgets.

good for back therapyown procedures in hotel included, possibility to select procedures you need and like among existing, possibility to bye extra procedures or to use bonuses from Danubius card for extra procedures Close to Heviz lake, but way is not good for disabled person because of hotel location on hill good meal with Hungary wine and live music on evening meal Room is standard, better rooms are on 7th floor

Nice surpriceWe just wanted to have a nice SPA vacation and studied the alternatives in Europe. We knew nothing about Heviz or the natural thermal lake. Heviz appeared up and so we decided. Very improved soviet time of hotel but in excellent and modern condition. The package was all inclusice and the hotel has Chaine de Rotisseur label and I agree that the food was highly variated and tasty. During the 1 week time we spent the kitchen made every day something special. And the SPA services were very good. A consultation with a doctor and he made recommendation which you might like. The SPA services were very good and affordable compared to standar European prices. The room on the best 7th floor was new but could be some m2 bigger but on the other hand you just sleep in the room. I do recomment and specially for Finnish fellows.

Not for familiesThis hotel really hates children families. Your child is not welcome there. Spa and sauna is only for old people. Old people are nice. Spa staff was very rude to us. One older staff member shouted us and came to see naked people on sauna. We were afraid.
