  Lovely, quaint hotel in the heart of Engelberg

  We were traveling by car and had a bit of difficulty finding the hotel as our GPS didn't understand that the hotel is on a car-free street. Once we figured this out, we were able to drive directly up the street and park in front of the hotel to unload our bags. We then parked in the nearby parking garage (5 minute walk). The staff provided us with a parking voucher to pay for the parking, which otherwise would have been at least CHF40. The rooms and bathrooms are small, but clean and adequate for our needs. We loved sitting on the balcony enjoying our wine and the people walking by. There is no AC so we slept with our windows open. There is an Irish Pub around the corner. During the late hours of the morning, we were awoken to numerous drunks walking home from the pub. That made us smile.

  Great Stay

  We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Engelberg and this hotel was really good. Our room was extremely clean, the facilities were sparkling clean and we were very comfortable. We were able to walk the cobblestone street for shopping and two really nice restaurants. Inn keeper was very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend.

  Nice and clean hotel, good location.

  We had room upstairs 5th floor. Clean and tidy room with shower/WC.In order to get warm water you have to let water run for a while (old house, old technical solutions) Bed was good. Hotel is very old, but charming. I think hotel is a combination of 2 houses and one is hotel and another is hostel. Location is best possible: situated in Engelberg center (car free street, but it is allowed temporarily to park & unload in front of hotel). Just 150m walk to busstop and bus to skilifts, works very well. I recommend to book a table in restaurant located in same Hotel, because restaurant is pretty popular and not that many seats. Breakfast is delicious, you will find muesli, fresh bread, local cheese, fruits etc. People working at this hotel were very very friendly. Also our small dog was welcomed. But if you're looking for modern hotel with lobbybar, spa, bathtubes etc, this is not for you then. This is basic hotel. Clean, cosy and well maintained. I can warmly recommend this hotel.

  Nice and friendly hotel in the middle of the village

  A very nice, lovely and friendly hotel in the middle of the village. Very friendly and accommodating staff; nice and comfortable rooms; and a decent breakfast. A parking garage is also available nearby. We felt very comfortable. Thank you.

  Great hotel - beautiful town.

  A party of four on a short skiing trip - we couldn't have been looked after better and enjoyed ourselves very much. The atmosphere of the hotel could not be more welcoming - following the tone set by the proprietor, all staff were friendly, cheery and helpful at all times; reception, bar and restaurant, breakfast room, cleaning staff.
