Small family friendly hotelIt was a business/family trip and I was looking forward to my first visit to Accra. The hotel is in a quiet part of Accra, looks residential, and very close to the airport,, Accra Mall.. The rooms look exactly like the pictures and there was no disappointment there. I was a little disappointed that there was no business centre as advertised, however the Manager was kind enough to go outside the premises to print and scan documents for me. The breakfast was okay( could be improved), and lunch and dinner is prepared on request and are reasonably priced. The cook is quite friendly and quite accommodating,. We arrived quite late at night but she woke up to make us dinner. Even though most of the advertised facilities were unavailable when we got there, there was lots of improvement by the time we left. Staff were friendly, and listen to complaints and readily address them. I got a free return ride to the airport because my pick up driver was not waiting for me when I arrived( due to flight delays). All in all it was a pleasant experience and I will surely try them again when next I'm in Accra.

What a waste. This is really a large house converted into a hotel. It is kept clean and by Ghanaian standards maintained. The food was decent but very expensive for the amount of food. The biggest problem was the lack of running water. If we wanted a place with a bucket for bathing and no way to flush the toilet I'd have paid accordingly. When I asked for a discount it was add if they were offended and refused to help. The main reason for staying here was for the free airport shuttle. Upon arrival I was informed the free shuttle is only from the airport to the hotel and not from hotel to airport. They wanted 40 GHS for the "shuttle" so I got a taxi for 15. What a disappointing rip off.

AwfulWe booked well in advance and asked for a room facing the street. Got a room at the back of building. The noise from the hotels aircon unit was like sleeping next to the engine of a jet. Only the staff who get tipped are efficient and pleasant. Reception staff the worst.

Not even MOTEL standard!!!We arrived Christmas evening to the Empire State Hotel only to discover that the room we had rented was given to someone else. We also met another group who arrived after us and had rented the exact room. They fought the management and got them to move the current guest out of the room the same night. When I asked them when they had made their reservation, they told me one week prior. I told them I made my reservation since October. Now, the management did ended up giving us a room however, it was horrendous, the toilet seat was broken, the shower door was falling off, the wallpaper was peeling and there was mold behind it. The lighting in the room was poor. We had to ask for towels, when they arrived, they were dingy, and smelled. The internet does not work, they dont have a working telephone for the front desk...American Express has been calling them for weeks and no response, only via email. We called from airport trying to get picked up...no answer, we ended up taking a taxi. The next morning, they rang us to ask if we wanted breakfast, but they were only providing two even though we were a part of three and would have been paying for three had we stayed. We asked to speak to the owner who was at the property that morning, she chose not to grace us with her presence, we waited half hour, then called an Uber and left for a better quality hotel that Amex got for us. I would not recommend this hotel. The pictures are very deceiving and they pulled the bait and switch.

Very TerrbleThis hotel is listed as 5 star but I will give it a no star for f I can. It s poorly managed. Everything about this hotel is fake. The water pressure in the bath is very low you won't be able to take a clean shower and don't consider a tub bathbecause it might take hours to fill the tub which is advertised as a soaking tub with jets but the motor is not connected and does not work. The bed dings got holes and the mattress is in a slope so you may slide down. I see them wash the bedding and hung outside to air dry but it's left there under the sun, and then rain and sun again vice versa as a result the bedding are dingy and stale. The worst of it is you have to call daily for tissues, wash cloths daily or as needed. The breakfast is the worst I've eaten only once and refused it the rest of my stay.. you have to request for CNN which was disconnected one night when watching a very important program me with the message that Dstv has disconnected the service because of non payment. The next day we were told that the manager had paid the bill and service is back on but that's not the case. We were happy to leave this hotel and spent the rest of our vacation in another hotel..
