Nice stay at The Emperor Hotel Malacca

Room is clean with comfortable bed. My room is on the 18th floor. Even though I can't see the view of Straits of Malacca, yet I can still see the view of Malacca town. The best part is my daughters enjoyed swimming at the pool.

You Get What You Pay For

Location is not too bad, away from the usual traffic jam area near Dataran Pahlawan. Indian Street & St Peter's Church are located just a 5-minute walk away. You can opt for a 15-min walk from this hotel to Jonker Walk and Stadhuys. Located next to this hotel is Ramada, Orkid, Bayview, and Putra Medical Centre. Ample parking spots available. Rooms are big and spacious and the aircond works reasonably well. Bed is firm and comfy, and the pillows are soft and fluffy. Bathroom needs urgent attention by the hotel: bathtub looks worn out, the walls look stained, the shower was broken, and the towels were off white. Toiletries provided are limited: only bath gel in a dispenser and shower cap. Nothing else. Coffee/ Tea making facilities provided. There's a mini fridge too but it didn't look clean. Overall, not too bad, but I'll only come here if I'm out of hotel options.

No Wifi in room / no bidet on cramped shower and toilet

I was disappointed when I arrived to my room and noticed there is no bidet in the toilet. No option but to use toilet paper. It has been very inconvenient for me during my entire stay. I called reception and was told that all their rooms have no bidet. I was really surprised that this is the first hotel in all my travels with no bidet on their toilets. The internet on their list of amenities will fool you. It says free internet in public areas. Their public area is only the lobby. So there is no internet in your room. I was okay with it since I have a local sim. But for tourists who might not have a sim card on their first day, this is a disaster. Breakfast is better than nothing but I think could be improved. Two days with breakfast is just having the same food the next but they just changed one or two to different ones. Not much option on the food items but in all fairness, the place where I ate breakfast was clean. Dinner is no problem when you stay in this hotel because adjacent to it is a food court which offers cheap but traditional home cooked dishes. It may get packed on weekends but totally worth it. What I like about this hotel is that it is just near the famous tourist attractions so riding to and fro is less hassle. Grab is very much recommended if you want to go to places within Melaka. I suggest walking too.

    Badly in need of renovation

In it's day this would have been a grand hotel but unfortunately that day has long gone. Looks like no maintenance has been done in many many years. Woodwork is rotting in the rooms, bath and vanity stained and chipped. However the beds are clean and the rooms quite big. Feel sorry for the staff. Breakfast is very basic but there is an egg station which helps. Juice and coffee very watery. Pool was clean but the surrounds like the rest of the building need a lot of repair. Unbelievably there is no wifi in the rooms only at reception. There is a large food court across the road. No alcohol in hotel. The soap in the dispenser in the bathroom is so watered down you have no chance of a lather. Very dissapointed

    A bit dated

The hotel is strategic located center of town. Walking distance to attraction points & value for money. Private parking is provided. The room is clean & the bed is comfort to sleep. Facilities are well functioning
