DONT GO THE END OF SEASON! Nice viewsWhen we arrived at emerald we were taken to our room (number 42) it had lovely views of the beach. Room is very basic and small but had enough for what you need. No shower curtain but thats a Greek thing! It had a hob and a kettle, some pans, plates and cutlery. We had 3 plugs in our room, non of them by the bed but thats not a problem. Beds are quite hard to sleep on and they give you one pillow and no blanket (we asked for more and they gave us more pillows and blankets) We went straight to the pool after arriving and we were very disappointed as we are pool lovers! It looked murky/dirty and theres not a lot of room for sun loungers around the pool. The bar doesnt sell food but they have a takeaway menu. It rained one day and they said the take away wasnt delivering that day, so my husband had to walk down the hill in the rain for our tea. Unfortunately we werent told that it was the last week of the season. The train that runs across the town had stopped running, a lot of the tavernas had closed and most places had sold out of things that we asked for. The weather was nice but it rained 1 1/2 days. The beach was beautiful so we went there every day, we found a nice place called Paralia nouveau but it was about a mile walk. THE HILL! I called it cardiac hill. I am unfit and it killed me, I dreaded it every day! I heard that someone hired a car just for the hill! (Bit extreme) but it is hard going! We walked up it twice a day. I think if we had gone a few weeks earlier when things were open we might have enjoyed it a bit more! everyone we spoke to really enjoyed themselves so we felt like the moaning Minnies which we are not usually! I think we were the only people in ours 30s there, everyone seemed to be a bit older so it was peaceful! Over all the room was clean, the balcony was huge and views were beautiful. Disappointed by the pool and I would advise never to go the last week of season (22nd-29th September) I understand the end of season is not the hotels fault.

You get what you pay forWe arrived right at the end of the season (22nd-29th September) and enjoyed decent weather; it was in the middle-to-high 20s for most of the week, with only one or so days of miserable weather. We'd hired a car (definitely recommended) which allowed us to explore when we didn't want to be on the beach. The room was a bit dreary and in need of some decoration, with the overall feeling of the complex itself a bit tired. The bar by the pool was well-stocked and good value, but the pool itself needed cleaning and was always full of dead insects. We had fresh towels each day, but not sure if the bed linen was changed each day. The fridge stopped working after the second day, and the lock on the outer door to the balcony was broken. The toilet also occasionally stopped filling up with water to flush, and the shower head needed descaling - sprayed everywhere. It wasn't bad for what we paid, but I'm not sure we'd go back there.

Mini Moon - Having just got engagedFacilities of the rooms were very good and spacious. The only issue the bed was extremely hard, even putting the quilt on the mattress, still didn't make any difference. This was the only issue we experienced. The bread van coming daily was great for breakfast - just not so for the figure. View was stunning. Did wish they had a sun lounger on the balcony. Over all very enjoyable, only issue was the bad back due to the bed being so hard.

You get what you pay for....Hotel in dire need of refurb, very basic, shower poor and electrics look very dubious. Not a place to stay unless your reasonably fit, the hill is a killer and then you've got the steps up to your room to follow (in the Emerald). The only thing going are the views of the bay, really fabulous and Costas (the owner) is very helpful and tries his very best.
