  Enjoyable stay at Elysium Apartments

  My wife and I stayed at Elysium Apartments the last week of July. The good vibes started at reception when we arrived. Sharyon was most pleasant and friendly. The Apartment we stayed in was well presented and clean. From what i saw of the other apartments, they appear as well presented and as clean as ours.The pool area is a great area to relax in the afternoon. Parking is undercover and easy to access. The property is well positioned and only a short 3 minute walk to the beach and restaurants. The only negative for these apartments, is that smoking is allowed on the balcony.The first five days were wonderful and pleasant, relaxing on the balcony as the people next door were non smokers, but for the last two days, we couldn't use the balcony because of the cigarette smoke. A WORD OF WARNING, if like me, you are a non smoker or are affected in any way by smoke and you have smokers next door, you won't get to enjoy the balcony and more, you will have to close the door to stop the smoke from coming inside. If it wasn't for the smoking policy, I would have rated Elysium Apartments as excellent. In this day and age, you would expect a total smoke free environment. What a pity.

  Excellent Accomodation

  We arrived after hours on a Sunday. The check in was easy with code given via sms to open safe to obtain key card for our apartment. An after hours phone number was provided if needed which we didn't use. The 2 bedroom apartment was spacious and very clean. My boys loved the Tv in their room and ensuite. Both bedrooms and lounge had air conditioners and fans which made the apartment cool on humid days. The aparment looked out to a very pleasant view towards hills and palm trees. We heard no noise from the Tavern next door and only light traffic noise from main road when Windows were opened. My boys enjoyed the pool despite it being cold and the pool noodles provided in our laundry were an added bonus. We used the washing machine provided and airers to dry our clothes on the balcony which we also sometimes ate our meals out on. The kitchen was very well supplied with an abundance of cooking implements. Whilst staying our toilet broke and after informing Stacey in reception it was fixed promptly by the time we returned after sight seeing. Stacey was very helpful and honest in informing us local places to eat and see, not just sprouting and promoting the usual tourist information! We would not hesitate recommending this place to family and friends. Ask go apartment 316 it was lovely.

  Marvelous place to stay when visiting far Nth Queensland

  The room we had was exactly like the website photos which is the first promising experience. Wonderful amenities, marvelous showers and comfortable beds. Everything we needed was in the rooms. We were also met with and were assisted by the most wonderful staff. They were extremely helpful and accommodating in every request we had. The accommodation was a couple of minutes walk to the beach, lovely restaurants and cafes. A five minute drive to supermarkets too for provisions. The location was perfect for a trip north to all that is to offer on the way to Port Douglas or to Cairns in the south and all the touristy must see locations. Lucky to have found this place.

  Great location

  Had a lovely stay. 2 nights over Palm Cove Reef Feast! Great location, close to everything. Stayed in a studio. Was nice. Check in easy. Staff lovely. Would definitely stay again and would recommend staying at Elysium.

  Location, modern and good value but has a few flaws

  The apartments at Elysium are privately owned and whilst the quality and general design are probably similar, the internal decor and furnishings will be apartment specific. Our comments relate to apartment 107A. The apartments are relatively modern but were not very well designed, with the relative location of the kitchen utilities and the space allocation in the bathroom leaving a bit to be desired. Whilst the walk-through wardrobe area and double shower are very large for non-permanent occupancy, the shelf-less vanity is minuscule with a ridiculously short tap. Still we are only here for a few days so we can live with the layout. The decor is a bit drab and colourless and very reminiscent of the Mission Brown days of the 1980's. Our last apartment in Port Douglas had a scenic balcony with limited privacy. The patio at Elysium whilst large and modern had good privacy and no view as it overlooked the tin roof of the adjacent Palm Cove Tavern. The roof was hidden by tasteful opaque glass panels but felt a bit enclosed and was uncomfortably hot when the air conditioning units were pumping out hot air. The swimming pool area was another design fault, accessed via a corridor door and was very uninviting, featureless with minimal seating area. Fine if you need to cool down but not somewhere you would want to relax and sunbath. Positives - good location, only 100M to the William St Esplanade, cheaper than the Esplanade hotels, modern, reasonable comfortable, has everything you would want for a short stay, secure undercover car parking, floor lift. Remember, you get what you pay for so if you can afford it, try for accommodation on the Esplanade.
