A lovely hotel with a great TUI team

We had a lovely week here at the beginning of October and would recommend for couples or a family. The work that has been done to enlarge the complex really complement the beautiful views of the bay and we sat on the veranda for dinner each evening which was lovely. The food and range of choice were really good, the waiters always attend to your drink needs at all 3 meals each day which was a nice touch. Our room was basic but ample and the only gripe was that it was advertised as a double room and was just 2 singles pushed together (they could easily improve on this by having beds that bolt/attach together so you don't fall down the gap!) The entertainment team were fantastic, we have never seen such quality shows by hotel staff before, it really did go well above all expectations. The choice of pools was very well done, we chose the top main pool and you keep the sun all day up there and the pool bar was really good too. Overall a lovely stay, thank you Elonda Breeze for the added touch of a birthday cake :-)

    Last Minute Luxury

My husband and I stayed in the Elounda Breeze early Crete for a week. We booked this holiday as a last minute break, around 3 weeks before we flew. We booked a family room with a private pool. Where to start? We absolutely loved this hotel, although it's a family hotel and we travelled as a couple, it catered for our needs just as much. The hotel has recently been refurbed or built, and it's stunning, so well thought out to get the most out of its location. For those with limited mobility, this hotel is quite hilly and steep, however, the staff are very helpful and will happily to offer to drive you in the little buggies to your rooms and the restaurant and around the resort if necessary. We arrived very late in the evening, got checked in super fast, offered a sandwich as a snack and were driven to our room. We stayed in room 3058, wow wow wow, did we drop lucky! Our room was perfect, so spacious, ideal location (just half up the hill right next to the water slides and not too far from the main restaurant), beautifully decorated, our private pool and tons of outside space to lounge around. Our main reason for going away was for an actual rest and break, and this holiday and room gave us that without a doubt. We barely left our room unless we were venturing out, eating or drinking because we didnt need to. The pool was our favourite feature and was a treat to ourselves because we have never stayed in a private pool room before and we loved it, we could just float around on our lilo's or lounge on our sunbeds, listening to our music. Every day our room was cleaned, the pool was cleaned and everything was kept tidy and immaculate. The staff are super friendly everywhere you go and cant do enough for you. The welcome meeting was useful to get an idea of where to go, what to do etc around Crete, however, we only ventured into Elounda a couple of times. Elounda is a quaint little tourist village with plenty shops, cafes, bars and a beach. If you are wanting a sandy beach, then here it is, the beach at the hotel is around a 10 minute walk down a side road, opposite the hotel, and is more of a rock pool. There is very little sand so not much for kids to play in, there is a bar down here but I'm sure I heard that this one wasn't included in the all inclusive. Plenty of sun loungers and I can't imagine it gets very busy. We spent half a day down at the beach and it was ideal for us because sand annoys us, but for those wanting to play or wander round, I would suggest the Elounda beach. The hotel is very family orientated so as a couple we didnt tend to see the reps or get hassled by them much at all, they tend to stay around the family pool or activity areas. There are four pools, the main pool by the restaurant at the top of the hill, the pools with the waterpark, a family pool and a quiet pool by the snack bar. We only spent our last afternoon at the quiet pool because we couldnt extend our late checkout in the room we had, pool was nice, not too cold and plenty of space around it. The restaurants were also lovely, very clean, tidy and well kept, the staff were super friendly and regularly engaged in conversation with us, we appreciated that for an all inclusive, the waiting staff would still bring your drinks to you as opposed to just clearing everything away. We had most of our meals in the main restaurant, but did try the snack bar a few times. There isnt a huge amount of options available, but the food is definitely cooked better than most all inclusives we have stayed in so for us it seemed like less is more. We never struggled to find anything to eat each day. From lunchtime onwards, prosecco was also available on all inclusive out of the bottle, which I've also never had before - lovely touch! There are two a la carte restaurants, the Taverna and the Green and Grill - amazinggggggg and so much food!! Would highly recommend you book in these early to get a good sitting, we went on a Friday night to one, and our last night to the other, you receive a welcome dish, then a mezze selection of starters and get to order your main, sides and dessert. You won't go hungry!! At the Taverna we tried the mixed grill and the pork pasta, with the greek selection of desserts and ice cream and shared them between us. At the Green & Grill, we both had steak and shared wedges and vegetables. To die for!! In addition to the prosecco, the drinks included in the all inclusive were good, the selection of cocktails was ideal for me, from the lobby bar you can also get crisps as a snack which we didnt find out till our last few days. I would say the wow factor with this hotel is its views at the main restaurant and pool, just something else, and it never gets old! Its lovely to sit up there at different times of day to see the views in a different light. Evening entertainment was good, the rep shows were definitely better than the shows brought in and they all took place in the amphitheatre each night, we would venture down here just to see what was going on, but it's very family/children orientated, there is a bar here too so you dont need to worry about wandering round with drinks. The water slides are good fun, we were lucky that with where our room was, when the slides were quiet we could just run over the road, play on the slides and run back without having to take our stuff with us because our room was right next to them. We also paid a visit to the spa and book a turkish bath ritual, probably not my usual spa experience, but it was different, you get a wash, a scrub, a massage and then can freely wander around the sauna, steam rooms and jacuzzi at our leisure, we felt very relaxed after it but more advertising and effort needs to be put into the spa, people dont even know its there! We thought long and hard about things that needed to be improved in this hotel and struggled, the only things we could come up with were; there was no iron or ironing board in the room which would have been handy, bathroom was shower only (and I quite like a bath), the shower screen doesn't quite do its job because it didnt come to the end of the base so our bathroom floor quite often got soaked so we were having to use our towels to dry it so ended up needing our towels replacing each day, a light on the steps to our room would be advantageous because at night it got quite dark and we struggled to see (especially after a few cocktails too), there is a little seating area by the main reception which was lovely to sit and have a drink at, but could do with some music being played in the background to create an atmosphere. As you can tell, we loved the Elounda Breeze and one day we plan to come back when we've started our own family but need to make sure we get our room again haha!

    Fantastic holiday

We had a great holiday here, it is beautiful. The kids club and entertainment team were fantastic. Only negative is the steep hill upto the restaurant, can't imagine this would be easy with a pushchair.

Only go if you have small children

This hotel will not honour any requests and hate having TUI reps on site. we asked for a room near the lifts and the facilities and we were given a room as far away as you could get and had 2 flights of stairs and a pipe to step over before we even got to a lift up to ground floor The bar seats are filthy and the drinks are so watered down you couldn't get merry in a month of Sunday's. Food is 2 star in my opinion and the special restuarants were only available now and again so we only got to go to one of them instead of them both. It was a lovely meal though. Despite money being poured into this resort it is still a very basic place. The road up to the restuarant has no lighting and is dangerous and if you were on your own quite scary. There is nothing for adults no seperate places to sit for a drink but there is many places and things to do especially for children. There was an outbreak of foot and mouth while we were there and they were still allowing the children in the public areas. I could go on........
