Great experienceWe are four family members >65 years of age. traveling together. We visited Elmgrove B&B for one night for our first night in Ireland. We arrived, after meandering along the coast, from a 5 am Shannon arrival. Also, we had been awake since 5 am the previous morning in the USA. On arrival, we were made to feel quite welcome into this relaxing B&B. I will be direct: I take strong issue with a review or two of Elmgrove that I read prior to our arrival. A few reviewers complained that the rooms were "small," and, thus, inadequate in their eyes. We really did not expect large rooms (it is a house, after all), but take my word that the rooms were more than adequate and quite comfortable. We received good recommendations from the proprietor about evening dining in Westport (just a brief skip from Murrisk, Elmgrove's location). After dinner, we watched the sun quench in the sea over the ocean to the west. Snug, warm beds, with exceptionally comfortable mattresses, welcomed us. In the morning, breakfast was hearty, varied, and satisfying. Frankly, I do not believe we could have had a better start to our ramble over the west of Ireland that involved passing strewn and piled rock, lounging sheep and their lambs, cows just milked, and hills and hedgerows blooming with the golden glow of yellow furze to trek on to my wife and her sisters' ancestral home on Scalp Mountain in Inishowen. So, may you, too, receive the blessing of the Elmgrove B&B when you are in the Westport area.

Friendly B&B with wonderful views of Croagh PatrickStayed for an overnight when attending a concert at the Westport Chamber Music Festival. Spotless B&B with comfortable beds and abundant and delicious breakfast. Mary couldn't have been more helpful and we will certainly return and spend more time.

Great stayWe stayed two nights at Elmgrove, a B & B. Mary was a wonderful hostess. We were lucky to book her last two rooms-one was spacious with en-suite and the other was smaller with a large hallway bath for our use only. My husband and I stayed in the smaller one. We were able to organize ourselves for the two days we stayed and therefore didnt have to deal with the luggage too much. The hallway bath was no big deal. The breakfast was wonderful! Full Irish breakfast, yogurt, fruits, homemade Irish brown bread Lots of tea and coffee A filling breakfast had us ready for our busy days! It is located directly across from Croagh Patrick & a short walk to a pub in either direction. We were very jetlagged the first night and Mary generously, drove us to a pub to meet the rest of our group for dinner. Overall, a great stay at Elmgrove.
