  El hermoso edificio antiguo, y las habitaciones excelentes

  La habitación bien amplia y muy bien decorada, con los servicios de la misma excelentes y sin cargo (nespresso, agua, galletas, cafe, te) El precio es excelente. Ubicado a unos 800 metros de la estación de tren, hermoso barrio. Lamentamos no haber pasado mas días.

  Fabulous Arts & Crafts Interior and Excellent Dinner

  Just spent one night here with family in two rooms, both of which were huge and really well furnished with great bathrooms. The beds were really comfortable.The highlight of the hotel is its Arts and Crafts Art Nouveau interior which has been thoughtfully retained although in parts it feels rather dark as there is a lot of wood panelling and dark purple paint. .I personally would have used lighter paint/wallpaper to complement the dark panelling. Some people might find it rather austere however Id say its atmospheric and quirky. Unfortunately the fabulous bar was closed because of COVID. The evening meal really was good for the price with a particularly good choice of starters and puds. The breakfast was less impressive... basic fruit salad and no toast. Service throughout was very good and the staff were very nice and friendly. The only slight irritations were the inability to provide a toothbrush after Id forgotten mine and lamps in the room not plugged in (one standard lamp didnt have a socket near) . There didnt seem to be any pods to go in the advertised nespresso machine although we didnt ask for any. First impression of hotel wasnt good...dirty red carpet ( daft to have one in winter) and pavement littered with used masks!, Very good value stay.

  Great place to stay

  We were in York for a Funeral. The hotel was really impressive. We were only there for one night. But really enjoyed our brief visit. Unfortunately we were there during COVID so could not enjoy the hotel to the fullest. However what we did see of it was stunning. The room was very nice and the bathroom was very high spec. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

  Fabulous break- amazing value for money!

  We had a fabulous time staying at the Elmbank. The deals we booked were excellent value - well worth booking direct with the hotel and seeing the deals they have available. We were given a complimentary room upgrade on arrival to one of the rooms in the main house. The room was beautifully decorated and spotless. Aside from a minor confusion over the lunch that was included in our deal, the staff here were brilliant and did a particularly good job when the hotel was forced to stop serving breakfast etc when Tier 3 restrictions came into force on our final night. Every member of staff we came across was really pleasant, cheerful and helpful and the gentleman serving us in the restaurant on our first 2 nights particularly stood out. What really made this break special though, was the food! The choice on the menu was fantastic and we struggled to choose each night and were never left disappointed! Everything was beautifully cooked, interesting and tasted incredible - hats off to the chef! Thanks to the staff here for a lovely experience.

  Art Deco in York

  Short flying visit but the hotel was beautiful. I usually stay down the road but saw a deal for this one. The hotel is super clean, the rooms are immaculate and they have all the distancing things in place you need. The decor throughout is beautiful, the rooms are decorated all Art Deco and theyre fab. The bathrooms throughout are amazing too. And super super clean. Bed is the comfiest thing ever, and wish I couldve snuck the mattress home.
