  Roomy apartment

  Our apartment in the Ferienpark proved to be roomy and nicely equipped in a location that's very convenient for the cross-country skiing trails in Oberwiesenthal. The complex -- a former East German block of flats that's been modernised -- is not so convenient for the centre of the village, though, being a couple of kilometres away up a hill. The decor and fittings looked reasonably new and beds, sofa and chairs were comfortable. I'd quibble about the lack of net curtains and particularly about the dim lighting; we had to move lamps around to make it comfortable to read.

  A great family place

  This is a great place for families, in winter or summer. The apartments are well-furnished and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a wide variety of food, and our dinner at the on site restaurant was delicious. There are numerous activities for children with and without their parents, and there is a very nice playground adjacent to the apartments. The area surrounding Ferienpark is beautiful, and two ski areas are very close by. We had an easy drive here from Prague through the Czech countryside.

  All perfect except there's no wifi

  Everything was perfect. The size of the apartment is really comfortable, the food is awesome, the infrastructure for children is really good and the ladies at the reception are very helpful. But the cell reception is terrible for o2-de, leaving us with a almost null Edge reception and there's no wifi in the room, the wifi at the reception is pretty bad as well. If you're staying for a couple of days and it's OK to keep away from the world for a little bit, than go for it. Oh, there's no elevators as well.

  Nice place for children

  There is no better place to explore the Erzgebirge. It is the ideal startpoint for hikes through the Erzgebirge. To enter the Fichtelberg the highest mountain in the Erzgebirge you can also use the ropeway. For children it is a paradise because you will find al lot of pure nature where the kids can explore the flora and fauna without taking care of cars. In Oberwiesenthal you will find a lot of possibilities to spent the day with having fun. You should use for example the summer toboggan run or the monster bikes. The Elldus resort also provides a lot of possibilities to enjoy your stay for example in the Spa.

  LOVELY STAY

  Recently stayed here during the European Bowhunter Championships in June. Fab apartment but NO wifi. Breakfast buffet was lovely, so much to choose from. Staff were helpful. This is obviously a great spot in the winter for skiing so will definately come back for a ski holiday.
