Could do (much) betterThis hotel was assigned to us as part of a package deal. Knowing what I know now, I would not have chosen it. To give some of the good points first - it is situated just a short walk from the seafront, the room was clean and tidy, the bed comfortable and the reception staff helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the negative points are hard to overlook. Despite the colourful, even bizarre fruit-based decor, the hotel was totally lacking in atmosphere. It felt like walking into a mausoleum. It also had about the worst breakfast service I have yet encountered. How can you justify serving up cold scrambled eggs each morning alongside equally cold oily bacon? Worst of all, the coffee was unidentifiable as such, which is unforgivable, and the tea was not much better. To top all this, breakfast room staff each seemed to have genuine problems when it came to customer relations. The most oft-heard phrase, was "no not there" when you sat down. Otherwise there was little communication at all. Breakfast was a pretty miserable occasion We chose not to eat there in the evenings but, luckily, there was a super little bistro nearby which we visited several times. I will not be returning to this hotel.

Lovely stayI had a lovely weeks holiday. My single room was perfect, had a balcony overlooking the small pool. The hotel is kept spotless and the ladies who clean the hotel were very friendly. The reception staff and the restaurant staff made me feel very welcome. The breakfast choices werent great but had cereal, yoghurt, breads, cakes, croissants as well as scrambled egg and bacon. As previous reviews stated, the coffee wasnt very nice but I just had tea instead. I dined in 5 evenings and enjoyed all my dinners. For starters I had either soup or a pasta dish. For mains I had a few pork dishes and a nice chicken dish. A dessert followed...small but tasty. I walked into Sorrento most days, taking 20 minutes. Its a busy toad but once I got used to it, was a pleasant enough walk. There are a few bars and restaurants nearby. The town of sant agnello is 5 minutes away, the train station, 10 mins. Not the nicest of towns due to the traffic but there are several shops selling snacks, fruit, wine etc as well as a pharmacy. I met some lovely people and that is what made my holiday so enjoyable and memorable.

A hotel that has aged badlyThis month of October 2019, I made a cultural trip with Arts & Life in Campania and I stayed a week in this hotel Eliseo Park's which is presented as a 4-star standard in the province of Campania, which corresponds to a 3 stars in France. The exterior decor is flashy with regard to the rooms. The classification criteria that I think are paramount in any establishment in this category are comfort and safety. Bedding, sheets and towels must be of high quality. Individually controlled air conditioning must work in every room and the best possible soundproofing of the room must be carried out to ensure calm and privacy. In addition to the overall security standards that must be respected, this second criterion is also the assurance that the property and the persons accommodated will be safe. For comfort, our room, supposedly recently renovated, was furnished with a wardrobe and two very narrow twin beds (barely 80 cm) with uncomfortable mattress and pillow very uncomfortable to use. Everything was covered with a simple heavy bed cover, instead of blankets or duvets, over sheets a little short. The tiled floor, even in the bedroom, was slippery as my wife fell. Side cleaning, nothing wrong, the room was perfectly redone every day. Our room had a relatively large bathroom, but with a very small bathtub equipped with a plumbing dating from the 50s, without mixer or temperature regulation. Cleanliness side, the ceiling was covered with mold, which seems to reveal a problem of unregulated ventilation. The minibar was a simple small fridge, old and noisy. The problem of the refrigerator noise was solved by unplugging it at night. The air conditioning, advertised individually, did not work so it was not noisy. Our room, the 103, was located on the ground floor, opposite the entrance to the hotel. The biggest worry of discomfort that we suffered all week was caused by a constant noise from the basement. At first, the management of the hotel denied this noise by telling me that it was air conditioning in the room. But it did not work and I proved it. I very quickly understood what was the origin of this noise and I demanded that I be led into the basement of the hotel where I found what I was looking for: a water superpressure and its softener system with regeneration resins, all located just below our room, and of course without soundproofing. This noise ruined the stay of my wife who had to take sleeping pills every night to fall asleep. At the level criterion security, the small safe closed with a key associated with the key of the room that we had to leave the reception by leaving. The French window of our room which was deteriorated did not close at all. When I said it at the reception I was first made to understand that I did not know how to close this type of French window, then after a while I was told that it would be repaired next day, what was done. I will not dwell on the very average quality of breakfast and dinner, the opinions are shared by just about everyone. Side location, it was suitable for half of the stay: that is to say for the visits of the Amalfi Coast and Paestum. On the other hand for the visits of Naples, Herculaneum and Vesuvius, it was terrible with more than two hours of bus to go and more than two hours of bus for the return. In conclusion, I would say that Arts & Life should revise its choice of hotel because on the one hand the initial quality is no longer there. The hotel has undeniably aged badly. On the other hand, its location is not suitable for the entire stay.

Lovely hotelWe had a weeks stay at the end of August. Cannot fault the friendly & helpful staff. The rooms are dated and the bad was uncomfortable but had everything you needed. The food was lovely and different every night. The 1st hotel we've been to ever that you can guarantee a spot next to the pool no matter what time you go down . There is also a garden area to sun bathe. Bus stop a little way up the road, shops within walking distance plus 15 minute walk into Sorrento itself. We would definitely stay here again.
