Most memorable experienceElephant Watch Camp was one of the most memorable stays from our Africa trip. It was the most rustic, yet still luxurious. I love the openness of the tents, they allow the wildlife inside. We were blessed with monkeys, bats, and even a civit into our tent. The elephants were not in camp during our stay but we saw them on our game drives. The staff is incredible, Bernard especially. There is plenty to do such as a visit to Save the Elephants, visit a local village, the staff will take you on a run if you need exercise and a walking safari with a mountaintop sundowner. Be ready for a cultural experience. The chef can accommodate vegan meals. Wifi is available in the main tent. Most dinners are communal but private dining can be arranged. I highly recommend staying here.

Life-changing experience! The Samburu people and their regard for their Elephants and the environment are front and center here. Yes the food is unbelievable, and yes the accommodations are fanciful and rustic but in a luxurious way, but from the moment you awake to the delicious hot chai tea until you walk back from your dinner and a drink around the fire you are being cared for by the most amazing, happy and generous people on earth. The trips out in the bush are breathtaking and the sundowner evening with the warriors chanting and singing on the way back to camp will remain with you forever. Save your pennies and settle for nothing less than an experience at Elephant Watch Camp - truly life changing.

The only way to truly experience KenyaWe have had two outstanding holidays at Elephant Watch Camp and will certainly return again. This is the most intimate safari experience, staying in a blissfully small camp (only 6 luxury tents) and spending ALL day in the bush observing the spectacular birds & animals with your private Samburu warrior guide and spotter, who have a unique understanding and deep local knowledge of flora & fauna. The elephants are the star attraction and together with the work by Save The Elephants, EWC have helped to create a peaceful and protected environment for such a vulnerable animal. It is indeed a privilege to be alone and quietly observe so many elephant families without the need of a zoom lens! EWC is run entirely with local Samburu and managed with the most elegant light-touch by Saba and Bernard. Everything is anticipated and nothing is too much trouble. The day always begins and ends with the best food you will ever encounter whether on safari or in a 5 star hotel, and the picnic lunches in the bush are beautifully prepared and served. EWC is both an enlightening & educational experience, in an inspiring landscape giving visitors precious time with both the local Samburu people (both in camp and within their villages) and the diverse wildlife. Spending time here will change your perspective forever.

A magical experienceThis was truly the experience of a lifetime. Elephant Watch Camp is amazing in so many ways: the hospitality at every moment of our stay - the incredible Samburu people - the beautiful animals everywhere to be seen - the symphony of birdsong that wakes you up at dawn - and of course the grace and intelligence of the elephants that live their lives in peace thanks in large part to the Save the Elephant Fund located just nearby. We found out about the important research that still goes on there. We learned more about life on our planet in the 3 short days we spent there than ever before. In addition to all of this - the whole experience is totally civilised - the food is exquisite and the setting is unique - dinner next to a bonfire under an undisturbed starry sky. An inspiring and humbling experience. Thank you so much Saba, Bernard and all the team for your hospitality and warm welcome.

A wonderful campWe stayed for 3 nights in February 2020. In December the camp was flooded so a temporary camp was established uphill, away from the river, and thats where we stayed. There was nothing temporary about it though, this camp is best described as character filled, personal and comfortable. This was one of the nicest camps weve stayed in. Exceptional meals (among the best weve had), mostly served outdoors. Great coffee!Comfortable bed. Lovely furnishings. Wonderful service from the Samburu staff and manager Bernard. The owner Saba was warm, friendly and highly involved. Our guide Francis was one of the best weve encountered, ably assisted by Litus. Highlights include: relaxed wildlife, several close encounters with elephants, a visit to the elephant research centre nearby, a walk along a sandy riverbed with Samburu warriors for sundowners on a hill, then a rousing Jeep ride back to camp, warmed by their songs. A fantastic experience. If we return to Kenya, we will want to stay here again.
