  Friendly and welcoming

  Needed pied-à-terre whilst in Hamburg without paying too much - comfortable and easily accessible to city centre. The Elbbrücken Hotel fitted the bill perfectly and the generous breakfast enable me to skip lunches! Had to rely on public (paid) internet because I didn't bring my travel wi-fi with cable, though.

  Dated hotel

  The hotel is dated, in need of some restoration and updates. The room I had was small and the bathroom was very small. But, it was clean and the bed was better than some I have stayed in. The did give you 500 mg of download for free and 5 euro for unlimited per 24 hr. Breakfast was 10 euro and standard breakfast in a German hotel. Meat, cheese, bread, eggs, cereal, a bit of fruit, some other odds and ends. Not bad. If you need a room for the night and don't need whistles and bells this is a good option. Don't expect an American style hotel. The rate was 70 euro and probably worth it. I would stay here again on my own. If my wife were with me I would want a more upscale hotel. But for me it was a room, bed, and shower. It was not a destination hotel.

  Nice staff, good quality/price ratio

  The hotel is very basic, clean rooms, quite small though, nice and variated breakfast. The staff is very very friendly and helpful. The hotel is not quite near the city center but you can get there easily taking bus number 3, whose Haltestelle is just one block away from the hotel, or different services to the Hauptbahnhof. Try walking through the park next to the river, which is just one block away from the hotel.

  Friendly people

  Our four night stay there was among the best human experiences we had in hotels, the landlady was very helpful and gave us a lot of practical information and advice about what to do. The night watchmen were not always very fluent in English but they tried and were quite helpful too. Breakfast was excellent, the rooms were very comfortable and quiet . Some people might complain that the general aspect of the hotel takes us back a few years, but who cares ? Everything was perfectly clean and in good condition. When we pass through Hamburg next time, we will stop there for sure !

  Great value for money! Clean and comfy!

  Hotels in Hambourg are very expensive! I consider myself to be lucky to find this gem. Excellent value for money! Neat and clean and comfortable. Great location not far from the center near to the bus stop that connects to the main railway station. A lot of food shops and food options around. Quiet location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room, all refurbished. I really recommend this hotel! Thanks a lot, Elbbrucken hotel, we had good time!
