Rundown, dangerous, no dogstl;dr night managers are violent, two female tenants smoke in the bathrooms + empty their waste in the toilets and not the dump point so the bathrooms stink, and the place is a death trap. Called beforehand to check if we could bring our dog but management said they're not allowed anymore. There is an enormous sign on the fence that says where to go for check in. I wish you could check in at the park but as I understand it, management refuses to hire staff or even pay their cleaners on the weekends. Hotel management is poor, rude, and the so-called night managers named Tyson and Brian who live at the tourist park are nothing short of abusive and violent. Complaints have been made about them but management does nothing. There's tree rubbish everywhere and the owners won't pay for it to be removed, the lighting is poor and there are plenty of holes in the ground too. I nearly broke my ankle going to the bathroom one night. There was absolutely nothing for our kids to do and the amenities are horrendous. Broken tiles, locks on doors that jam up, and the front bathrooms are generally filthy. One of the permanent tenants themselves has to clean the bathrooms otherwise it won't get done. After our third night, which was quiet bar the local hoons, we checked out. Hubby and kids had had enough and I personally didn't feel safe staying any longer. The night managers watch you from their balcony and most of the tenants who live out the front are unfriendly and rude. We won't be coming back here again, and recommend no one else does either.

AWFUL!!We arrived at El Lago as part of a 3 week trip from Sydney to Brisbane, on arriving at the site I was greeted by something rotting on the floor and covered with flies. We walked down to reception to get our pitch number then went to get pitched up. We then found the pitch we had been allocated was already taken. The bins were overflowing and the grounds were generally not well kept at All! This is truly the worst site we have ever seen! To be fair to the receptionist he gave us a refund straight away but it's a bit late trying to find another site in peak season. Unless there are major changes and a huge clean up I really wouldn't put yourself through the ordeal!

nice villaThe room is clean and comfortable, unfortunately there is no air conditioning. But it's cheaper. It can accommodate four people and you can cook. The location is very good, just by the lake, and the scenery is very beautiful. The reception is in the El Lago resort hotel, hundreds of meters away.

HorrendousWorst place Ive ever been to we booked for 2 nights and are leaving after one. It is so old and run down Im in fear of catching something here its filthy. Cobwebs everywhere my family are all sneezing from dust the beds are uncomfortable and horrible when the people next to us checked out the cleaners came with a coles trolley with a couple supplies they do not change the bedding !!!!! They chucked a few clean towels on and remade the bed it made us feel sick that we are leaving a night early disgusting filthy will never return here I would rather pay more for a clean and updated venue there isnt any facilities here and the trees leave mess everywhere the driveway is all cracked my daughter nearly broke her leg waking at night its dark and no proper lighting do not waste your money or time here I wouldnt even give it one star minus 100 from me

Great location but.........Stayed in a 2 room Villa which was located across the road from the lake. Could just walk across and drop a line in to fish. Walking distance to main street and eateries, boat hire, beach and childrens carnival. Rooms were clean and staff helpful. However, resort is very old and past its prime and could do with more regular maintenance. Villa was air conditioned but pretty small. Kids beds were in living room/kitchen (with closet with spare blankets and 2 fans) and double bed in seperate small room with no cupboard or anywhere to hang clothes. Had small bedside shelves with lamp and good power points for charging phones etc., but no other furniture than bed. Even a chair or hooks on the back of the door would have been helpful for hanging stuff. Soundproofing wasnt great as could hear when plumbing was used in adjoining Villa. All linen was provided and a towel each. But need to bring own hand towel and hand soap and face washer. Kitchen has full sized fridge, small microwave and stove/oven, no grill. Basic kitchen ware provided and crockery, cutlery for 4 people. Shower in bath, no bathroom fan so can get a bit steamy if dont partially open window and no where to put toilet bag. TV provided but no wi fi. Parking spot extremely tight to get in and out of for larger cars. In summary, probably a good option for water lovers or families on a tight budget who dont mind basic accomodation, but no good for anyone who wants all of the mod cons.
