Good location, kind staff and good food.I stayed in Eken Prestige for three weeks. Pros: good location, kind staff, good food. Cons: rooms are not super clean, no power outlet close to bed, very loud parties on top floor until past midnight on fridays and saturdays. You will need ear plugs if you are not OK with staying awake until 1 am.

The short version: Stay Away!Even the friendly, helpful, hospitable staff cannot redeem this shoddy, cheapskate dump. Its one of those outdated hotels where they give you one key per room - To me that's a bad start. The rooms are spacious and clean, but nothing works - The airconditioner makes all the right noises, but that's it! The toilet flushed most of the time, with a lot of coaxing. The repair job on the shower head didn't work, so it sprays water in every direction, with barely enough water spraying forward. The beds are old and hard. We opened the windows in the evening to let some cool air in and were suffocated by gusts of smoke from a nearby chimney. The dining room!! Everything is packaged down to the long-life shelf milk served at room temperature. At breakfast the trays of food, including pickles, cold cuts sliced cheeses are removed from the refrigerator, partially unwrapped in order to save them the expense of changing the cellophane wrapping from one day to the next. Ketchup and Mayonaise are served in their original containers right off the supermarket shelf. The food selection, quality and presentation all exclaim: Cheap! They have a nice gym. Open from 10 to 12 in the morning. The pool is closed.... The free wifi is very complicated. You have to register your passport number at the desk. This becomes your password. There is a two stage entry process, so your receiver will indicate that you're connected, but you're not. Each time you open an application you discover that you're not actually connected. So you go through the whole process of connecting - and receive all your mails and missed viber calls and whatsap messages - and then 10 minutes later, you are quietly disconnected again! The elevators are so slow that I used the staircase up to the fourth floor on a number of occasions. If you wait for the elevator on your floor, which is not unusual, you need to keep moving around because the lights go off if there is no movement for 15 seconds! Bring your own hair conditioner. Good points: Excellent location - You step off the ferry or train, cross the street and you're there. The staff - In true Turkish tradition very helpful and hospitable

Bizarre but OK for an overnight stayHad to spend a night in Badirma as my train from Izmir did not connect with the ferry to Istanbul. The good point about the hotel is that it is opposite the railway and ferry port, its only good point.... Rooms are average and decor is OK, quite a good size yet they have their twin beds are narrow ones - I never understand this if you have the room size out decent beds in. There are some electrical issues with the wall socket outside my door in the corridor hanging off and the energy saving key switch falling to pieces when I tried to use it. Bathrooms need cleaning attention with lime scale on the shower head which is uninviting and potentially a health hazard. Restaurant on the 6th floor with views over the town - food was tasty but the ambiance was odd. Breakfast starts at 7am, the train to Izmir leaves at 7am and the ferry to Istanbul at 7.30am, lets face it the iny reason to be in Bandirma is to pass through it so why on earth does breakfast not start at 6.30am. I think this really sums up this hotel! If I pass through Bandirma again I will try the 3 star Odaman as the Eken Prestige has been tried and has not passed my test!

Old style but decentThe location of the hotel is pretty good, right across the Istanbul ferries. Bandirma is a small town, so you can walk to the center in 5 minutes. Eken Prestige is an old style hotel; don't expect modern design; it has a super classical (like from the 80s) lobby and it is obvious that it is run in the old style way. The rooms are a bit more modernized, you can understand that they are redesigned. But overall it is a decent hotel. Everything works smoothly, the reception, the room service, breakfast etc.

Decent hotel for overnight stayThe hotel is a bit old, but decent. The main problem was that no one of the hotel's staff speaking English. The rooms are big and clean, but the facilities are in the minimum level. The elevator is VERY slow... be aware. Breakfast was decent as well. If you find yourself in Bandirma, Eken is a good value to money option.
