    I wouldn't book again

Me and my husband visited Santorini in July 2007, so this can be a little bit dated information. No reception, a girl (apparently the owner's granddaughter) was waiting for us and pointed our room. One had to pay extra ( 5 euros/day) for air conditioning and first she asked a double price but we got that sorted out. The problem with the air conditioning was, (that although we of course didn't leave it running for the whole day) when we got back to the hotel in the evening and went to visit a nearby store (5 minute walk) someone had gone to our room and turned the aircon off. It would have been great to leave the machine on for maybe 10 minutes and come back to a cool and relaxing room, but it was a "no no". Finally the owner lady came personally to educate us that one shouldn't leave the room after the air conditioning is on. We even got a note to our door to remind us. Apart from that, the citchen was poorly equipped, we got two single beds as a couple and the "balcony" was actually a shared walking corridor. But the room was clean, I have to admit. If you want to go to Santorini, pay extra and stay at Oia. It was fantasticly beautiful, nothing like Kamari where this hotel is located.

    stayed one night and left.

After travelling for more than 12 hours, all we were looking forward to doing was getting to our hotel and relaxing...when we got dropped off, the owner wasn't there and the only woman available didn't speak english. We had requested a room with 2 beds, but when we got there, there was one bed. luckily we were able to switch to next door. there were bugs everywhere and though they looked clean, i found the sheets questionable. we spent the marjority of the night trying to find another place to stay. lucky for us, the best western - paradise in akrotiri had availability and is virtually the same price. we are now here and greatly looking forward to our vacation. i don't even care that we paid for 2 hotels, it was just such a relief to be out of there. so in other words, unless you want to feel like you are in a hostel or camping...stay away!!!....and yes they make you pay extra for a/c and ask for it up front.

My second home on my beloved island of Santorini

We first came together with my two kids to Villa Ekati in summer 1994 and got really enchanted by this place. A small charming villa set in a beautiful location in a lovely scented garden with flowers, palms, eucalyptus, pistachio and olive trees just around, with a crystal clear swimming big pool, away from the noicy part of the Kamari village yet just few minutes walking distance from the beach. The place was so comfortable, offering enough space to accommodate our family and yet so relaxed and laid-back, relaxed, in a typical Greek way, that we could not resist but to come again and again. Since 1994 we visit Santorini every year, we missed just 2 summer seasons since our first stay. We lived in many hotels in Kamari (Mateos, Captain Ilias, Reflections Sea, Black Sand Appartments,...) and in amazing - beautiful Oia where we lived in Alta Mare, but Villa Ekati is the place we prefer most! We became friends with the owner/s, a very educated lady and her lovely children and grandchildren and even though we do not speak or understand much Greek, we enjoy their kind company and attention, taking us by surprise and bringing us sometimes home made food, fruit,... The rooms are typical 3 star accommodation, with all necessary things including hairdryer, TV, safe deposit,... the bathrooms have showers with plenty of hot water around the clock, there is everything necessary in the kitchen to prepare a simple meal. The beds are huge and comfortable, due to the presence of wind it is never too hot so the roms are pleasantly cool, but air condition is available as well. Plenty of storage for suitcases, big wardrobe, and all basic furniture pieces,... Everything one needs for a relaxed, easy going holiday time is available. I would recommend the place to everyone.

    kavos ekati htel

to be honest this holiday turned out just right for me n the wife .We went out to dine n drink till 1 ish and missed most of the youths that are out there . I say youths because I think there is a majority of 16, 17 year old using kavos . I admit We had to move rooms thou . The first room was a disgrace . no shower hanger a horrible sewer stench a broken toilet it was a dive . In all fairness after a very early morning dispute after having no sleep at all we was moved . Our room was the best they had penthouse suite . Other couples wasn't so lucky and there holiday was from hell. I would recommend that this hotel is for the young only and that it should state under 25 only .
