  His False Advertising Turned to Him Calling Me A "Scammer" & Refusing Service Entirely

  I was called a scammer and refused service despite having a reservation and already being checked in. As the night clerk was going over the property and how to find my room I simply asked where the indoor pool was. The night clerk told me they didnt have one. I pointed to his sign out front which clearly states they have one. His response? You didnt see that sign when you made the reservation. I proceeded to show him that it was listed in the amenities on his google account (screenshot is the image) and the images associated with it, as well as on billboards between New Mexico and the hotel. He made no apologies for the obviously misleading advertisements, and I simply stated that I would make note of this in my google review. This is when it hit the fan. He jerked the receipt and room keys away from me and told me that I was a scammer and an extortionist. I asked for no credit, no changes to my account. Only that he should update these items so that others werent also mislead. It was 1:30 in the morning and my toddlers and teenager were asleep/exhausted in the car. They were all looking forward to this amenity, but I really wasnt making a big deal about it. The nearby Motel 6 had really good accommodations and the night clerk was amazing. Im not saying to necessarily go there but DO NOT go here!

  Last place on earth!

  We arrived early, check-in was a bit disconcerning. All went well until we mentioned we had the booking thru booking.com. At that point, the front desk clerk became very quiet and a stern look on his face. Thinking that perhaps he had a bad day for other reasons, we continued on with the registration. Then we went for dinner and came back. To our surprise, the room next door (with connecting door) was booked with a family. This was inspite of the hotel being only 25% booked (my estimate). We called front desk, and ask what the reason was for having a family n3xt door to us whrn there appears to be lots of room in the hotel? The very next question from the clerk was, and i quote, "why are you asking such a rasist question?". It was at that point was requested out money back and booked in at a diff hotel. I would stay here again if it were the absolute "last place" available! We even contacted Ecomo lodge head office afterwords and to date, no resolution (that is 11 months ago)

  Yikes

  We had 2 rooms. The first room had a plastic bag taped over the smoke detector and someone's old beat-off sock in the bedside table drawer. The other room wasn't much better. It had a door that wouldn't lock and you could just push it open. The TV wouldn't work and the coffee decanter was just a pile of glass in the trash can with bits of broken glass all over the floor. To top it all off, there wasn't nearly enough toilet paper for the sh@ts I had. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay.

  Which problem do I start with??

  No staff was available to check me in when I arrived. After using the telephone and bell provided, it took a full 5 minutes for staff to show up explaining that she was "with a guess" when in actuality she reeked of cigarette smoke. Once checked in I lugged my suitcases to a second floor room (no elevator) only to discover that the room I was assigned had not been cleaned. I lugged everything back down the stairs to the front desk and was assigned a new room (1st floor this time). Lugged everything back inside to my new room to discover that the key did not work. BACK to the front desk where the key was reprogrammed. BACK to the room and the key worked this time. I entered the no-smoking room which reeked of stale cigarette smoke. I was just driving through and only staying one night so I settled in as best I could for the evening just in time for a heated argument outside my door between the desk clerk and a guest. My recommendation is to make reservations elsewhere!

  Police escorted us out of the hotel

  We were ( 11-19-20)escorted out of the ( Econo Lodge ) by the Winslow , AZ , Police Department. The reason was, we told the front desk clerk that we will be reporting the problems to the head office on our evaluation email of our stay in the hotel.( Choice Hotels) we had no phone service and hot water. She become upset and called the police and they escorted us to our car. Then we received a full refund. Do not stay at the Econo Lodge and do not join Choice Hotels . Never have I been escorted out of a business or my home by a police officer in my life.
